New Pup!

Seems like they are in high demand right now, glad you found one.

We got one from Helping Hounds last year. Quite an interview process.

Rolene says "congrats!"

Yea, some of the applications get a little overboard.

We got him from Fetch a Friend Rescue in Seneca Falls. They were really great to work with. They sent him home with a big bag of goodies and food too.

BTW, for those interested, Seneca Falls, NY is the town that Bedford Falls in the movie "A Wonderful Life" was based on.

The movie was based on the book "The Greatest Gift" by Philip Van Doren Stern and he wrote and based it on the town I live in, Califon NJ. There's 2 stories as to how the town name came about, the sign painters were to drunk to spell California or the sign board was to short to fit it.

The book probably was based on that town, and I don't doubt it, but many are convinced, based on a lot of things, including many visual similarities, that Frank Capra used Seneca Falls as the model for the movie.

Yes Seneca Falls was the model for the movie, but the book definitly fits Califon.

Thank you for rescuing him! Best way to get a pet. He's a lucky fellow to adopt you for his owner. For too many of them their luck runs out. :thankyou:

I had a preowned cat, he was 10 when I got him. I had him for 8 great years. He was my buddy.
LoL!!! Our preowned dog Abby is the only dog I’ve ever owned with a people name. Drives me crazy but with all she’s been thru a name change just seemed cruel. I’m also glad my young niece doesn’t mind our dog sharing her name with her. Glad she thinks it’s cool. How come nobody’s done a co pilot thread. I’ll make one now. See what you started Big John Lol!!!

Yea, the last dog was House, a name he came with. I think his droopy eyes looked like the TV doctor, and that was the reasoning. I just told everyone "big as a House" and that seemed to satisfy them.

The rescue people seem to use people names. The dog we looked at was named Dave... I figured "Dave the Dog" was OK, but he wouldn't have worked out. My wife once had gotten a Chihuahua named Cedric. She morphed that to Seti.

A co pilot thread is great!

My Ro came pre-named "Monroe", but I wasn't a fan of that, but she answered to "Ro". I named her "Rolene" so she'd still recognize "Ro", plus the Moon Martin song from 1979 of that name has always been a favorite. So...Rolene it was!

My wife's lap buddy turned 10 this year and I pray for at least 5 more years with him. It will be really hard on her when he is gone.

10 lbs of terror. He knows who he belongs to, I am ok with 2nd place.

You shouldn't have to bend over to pet a dog... LOL
We're big dog people too John.
Our (Sammie and me) first dog was a tri color Collie named Shamus, then we got a Great Pyrenees named Bear, then a St. Bernard named Sadie and now a Burnese Mountain Dog, Brandy.

Loved them all!

God Bless you for taking him into your family!

This is Tom.
His full name is Thomas Sullivan Magnum. We went 10 years with no dog prior to Tom. But we had a pair for many years the younger one was a red dobie named Vinnie Barbarino. Wife picks the names.
