Thanks a lot. This car sure does command a lot of attention. Had several spectators at Carlisle bend my ear about the car. One couple came back twice to admire it and talk about it. I think I converted him to C-Bodies. . .

As regards the 800 mile drive: It is pretty much standard practice for me to drive the cars home that I buy. I think of it as an adventure, and it always works out OK.

John: I was on US 15 / I99 most of the way up there from the Harrisburg area. Of course, from Schenectady to Newark, it was I-90 most of the way. Stayed overnight Tuesday in Phelps at a nice B&B (Yorkshire Inn).

That place looks nice. BTW, Phelps is known as the Sauerkraut Capitol of the World.

Next time through there, take one of the routes around Seneca Lake (one of the Finger Lakes) and hit a couple of the wineries. Seneca Lake Wine Trail

Congratulations, Rip! I lusted after this one as well when that ad came out, wish I could have seen this one in person. Other than the interior, are there any other differences between a Navajo edition and a standard '73 coupe?

I don't know, James. This car has the 400 engine, disc brakes, cruise control and the standard AM radio (which is missing). I have a brochure that came with the car that I think lists all the options, etc. I'll investigate. Stay tuned.

The three ads for the Navajo Special Edition that can be seen at fuselage.de "only" mention the JK3 copper paint, the B1KW interior with special seat fabric/pattern and orange "plush shag carpet", the "deep grain" vinyl roof (usually V1W white, but at least one V1X black example exists -- it is owned by @DeMopuar), and the V7V orange pinstripe.

Rip, if you have a chance to scan the brochure, that would be great!

They are really a pain in the a... errrr knee.

I just like to pretend that the federales didn't get involved in '73 and ram those down the designers throats at the last minute like they did, so the beauty of their designs can shine through.
What do you think the designers said... "You know what would really make these bumpers look good.... a couple of giant rubber blocks on the front and rear! Yeah that's it, let's bolt some hideous rubber blocks on them!"

I bought my 66 New Yorker in Vancouver BC and drove it 2800 miles home after a shake down trip to Canadian Tire for 4 tires and a new battery.

Just send it. Lol.
