I have some rust around where the skirts attach to the rear fender, front of the QP and just above the wheel. Anyone have success removing the metal and replacing in these areas? I want to stay away from bondo if possible. Same areas both sides of the car.

Body filler is not an option in this type of repair. All rust has to be cut out or it will continue to spread, and there is more there than you can currently see. New metal will have to be welded in for this to be done right, which leads to paint work as well. Since you are asking about this job I'll assume sheet metal fab is not something you're experienced with so I suggest you find a local quality restoration shop and let them do the work.

The quoted price will likely seem high up front, but this job is bigger than outward appearances suggest.
And your car is worth doing the job right

Most of the time as you start cutting out the rusted metal, you will find additional rust on the wheel house that is causing splash to get inside of the quarter. It is usually a pretty big job to fix this type of rust out. This vehicle is also showing some rust on the tailing end of the rocker which can be another indication of a perforated wheel house. Check your lower quarter radii as well, there may already be bondo in place from a previous repair.

you are going to end up replacing about 6" all around that wheel opening judging by the pictures.

That's what I was figuring, since this is where the skirts attach I was hoping someone had some tips since this isn't a standard cut and replace.
