Hello C-Body Fans,
since beginning of this year I have an Imperial LeBaron from 1973, a sweet little town car ;-)
I have serious problems with the electrics, because the AC control unit burned down at the pre owner.
Does anyone have a wire harness of any 1969-1973 Chrysler Newport, 300, New Yorker, Imperial?

have a nice weekend,
Jan
(oh dear, i just found the C-Body Part Search thread. Maybe someone can move this post there?)

You want a 68-73 harness.
Why did you say 67-74?

Hello Commando. Oh, sorry. I thought the model changes were at 67 and 74. you are right. Wikipedia says only 69 to 73. i'll change it in my text

Chrysler made some changes to the harnesses in those years, and I think 1973 is the most different of them all.

First off, does your car have the Automatic Temperature control A/C? That will make a big difference in the wiring under the hood.

There are three or four separate harnesses under the hood. Do you need them all, or just the one that has the A/C stuff on it?

Do you know if the dash harness is ok? Often when there's a problem under the hood, the dash harness will be damaged too.

You may need to post some detail photos to help get things sorted out.

Once we determine what you need, I'm sure we can find someone who has it.

Hi Jeff,
thanks for your input. Yes, the Imperial has everything what was possible at that time at chrysler... Automatic Temperature A/C unit, electric windows, doorlocks and seat adjustment.
I got a new AutoTemp II A/C unit with aluminium case and ACC amplifier last month from USA (refurbished by Perfanalysis) ... wires and hoses i have to get somewhere else, to get the A/C working.
Wiring harness of the A/C i will need for sure. All the other cables look good ...BUT... there since 1 month there is no electricity in the cabin. The car is at the shop at the moment, because the issue went that bad when i was on the street. So I don't have it here at my place at the moment :( so i could only attach these 2 older fotos... i hope they will help?

You are going to need the ATC harness then. It's either 1973 only, or may possibly be the same as '71 and '72. I can't remember what the first year was for the underhood servo unit. I'll try to find time to do some part number research over the weekend to see if I can find what years are the same.

Most likely, you will need to check with Murray Park to see if he has a good used one. It's very unlikely that there's an NOS one out there for sale, but it's worth checking first.

Thanks a lot. i will write to Murray Park a mail, maybe he has something for me.

Those are the ones that I saw yes, but I think the input the other members above ^^ have given you better answers your question than I could. That’s why I love this site so much, extensive knowledge that these guys have is impressive. Hope it all helps you in request to get her back on the road.

I should have an Imperial wiring harness somewhere, under dash, maybe also engine compartiment.
I believe it's '69 or '70, I'd have to check; not even sure where it is.
But possibly not what you're looking for; if you're interested anyway, let me know.

1969 and '70 have the ATC unit behind the right side kick panel, so that won't work on his car.

Thanks for offering it anyway.

Jeff

The ATC II harness should be the same for 1971-73 as far as I am aware unless there was some minor variation. Nothing earlier or later will be even close. If you have the Performance Analysis servo and amplifier, usually the culprit from having the ATC II system operate is a failed check valve. There are also Mopar ATC II testers still around that can be bought to help in the diagnosis of problems and they are actually helpful.

Thanks a lot for finding out which years are compatible Jeff.

And big thanks for offering, NY69

Yes i have a renewed part from Perfanalysis.

lets see on Monday, which parts i need and what i can get from Murray Park :)

The parts manual isn't clear at all concerning the Imperial wiring harnesses for ATC.

There's one harness that is available NOS from a couple different vendors, part number 3513454. It's listed as a "control jumper harness", and fits 1971 to 1973 all C bodies and 1973 only Imperial. Have no idea where this harness is in the system, since the parts book calls the controls on the dash a "control" and also call the underhood servo a "control".

All the other harnesses listed in the book are 1973 only. I would say that if you get a harness from Murray, it probably needs to be off a 1973 Imperial, unless he knows more about them than I do and says that a '72 or '71 will work too.

Jeff

Correction on the NOS harnesses.

Len Dawson has three of them in stock. The vendor I found on ebay is just a reseller that would buy it from Len and double the price.

Jeff

Hello all together,
finally we got the other stuff going, now only the AC harness is missing.
I sent emails to Mr Dawson and Mr Murray. Mr Dawson doesn't have it on stock (PartNo: 3744987) and Mr Murray doesn't answer my mails.
Do you maybe know anything helpful here?
Best regards to you all and stay healthy. Jan
