Introducing a 1970 300 TNT convertible

Despite requiring work to get up to spec and everything functional again after 35 years sitting, the original owner took good care of it by keeping it safely inside.

I wish you much joy and happiness with this beautiful convertible, it couldn't have gone to a better owner with the right contacts to get everything correctly sorted.

Best wishes to all for the "restoration."

Very nice ride and in the right hands - cannot wait to see you bring her back to life.
Congratulations!

Wow what a car!! Fantastic score! Did you get any documentation with it? #s matching? Looking forward to more pictures/info on the car!

I've had my eyes on this '70 U-code convertible for a long time. Its a lot rougher then yours. This ones R6 red with tan/brown console interior.

Imo I think you got one of the best color combos!

So what is holding you back from getting it - looks well optioned too and I really like those cornering lights on that car? They really enhance the looks of these cars IMO. ER6 isn't a bad color either and brown interior is a break from most of the red ones having a white interior. I used to have an ER6 convertible too with U code with white interior but I sold it awhile back since I prefer the body rigidity of a hardtop and a sunroof over a convertible.

Its still not for sale lol, that and I'd prefer a hard top.

Please post some full-body pics of the car
I can't wait to see more of it.
Keep us posted on any and all progress.
can't wait to see the photos.
I remember thinking that it was only a days drive from here, but then promptly forgot about it.
I can't wait to see more pictures.
As for the photos (...)
cannot wait to see you bring her back to life.
I can't wait to see what you do with it.
Looking forward to more pictures/info on the car!

Thanks all for the nice feedback. As requested, here are four shots of the car, all courtesy of @Ripinator. Enjoy!

The pictures were taken at a local shop recommended by Rip, to be (gently) woken up after a 20+ year slumber. The idea is to get the car ready for short drives, before shipping over to the Midwest for more comprehensive fettling and detailing by @david hill. To that effect, I had four Hankook Kinergy ST 235/75R15 delivered by the Tire Rack this past week for mounting, as well as a set of date-coded reproduction spark plug cables from Lectric Limited (same as I have gotten for my other 1970-1972 C-bodies, at the recommendation of @Big_John), and sundry supplies: six quarts of Valvoline VR1 high-zinc 10W30 oil (as recommended by @david hill for the TNT engine), plus Accel 8320 cap & rotor kit, WIX 42044 air/51068 oil/33032 gas filters, and Champion Copper+ (14) spark plugs -- different oil but same parts as I got for for Medina, my T-code 1971 Monaco, together with @71Polara383. This time, I bought those supplies from O'Reilly as they happened to be substantially cheaper than Summit (whereas the reverse was true pre-COVID). O'Reilly does not carry Zerex green, so the shop itself will supply it.

This is what I love about this place, great guys to help out when needed. I don't want the @Ripinator to get a swelled head but way to go Rip! Way to go above and beyond to help out, in this absolutely beautiful car.

Good thing for you, it was not near me, I might have said sorry, no longer available, after I set eyes on it. :)

Great score and I agree with Dave, a perfect color combination.

Ayilar: Congratulations! Sublime 300 Convertible, for the Deeply committed FUSELAGE aficionado!
One day, possibly, this Summer of ‘21 perhaps, it would be FUSIE AWESOME to gather a tribe of The Last Chrysler Corporation Convertibles, somewhere in America The Beautiful . . .

Short story: sounds good! IL, IA, MO or WI are kinda central to C-body 'vert ownership and could work. In fact, such a gathering could be teed up with the 5th Midwest C-body show in late June or with the 2021 CATL in September.

Long story: last year, I started plans for just a 50th anniversary reunion of the last C-body ragtops at Carlisle, but the pandemic threw us a wrench. Still, we managed to get 5 Polara 'verts (3 on Friday -- @polara71, @71Polara383 and myself; 4 off-site on Saturday -- @carfreak6970 and a friend of his brought theirs but I could not join) as well as @c-barge's Newport 'vert and one Fury iii. Not to forget of course @david hill 's award-winning '69 300. I won't be organizing anything similar this year at Carlisle, but other places are possibilities. There are a lot of 1970 'verts within 200 miles of Chicago, so @sixpkrt's C-body Show would be a natural place for the 'verts to congregate. If my TNT is ready by then, I plan to bring her there (as well as my two 383 Polaras). And, I hope to get as many 'vert owners to join the 2021 CATL in September -- I am hoping for example that @Stanj could bring his N-code Polara there.

PS: I have been gathering information about surviving 1970 C-body 'verts and their whereabouts, helped by the earlier findings and the generous information sharing of @polara71, @fc7_plumcrazy, @Fratzog and @71Polara383 (Dodge), @Fury440 and @70 Sport Suburban (Plymouth), and @c-barge (Chrysler) -- among others. For the past couple of years, @c-barge's Last Convertibles thread has served as an informal public repository of information on those cars. Ultimately, it would be great to get all that info up on a site -- like Bill did for the T-code Fury 'verts. I am in the process of doing so for the U-code 300 'verts, together with some other members who own a one -- we are at 18 '70 TNT ragtops thus far, out of (likely) 135 produced. (Edited: thank you @sampligman)
