Rockauto lists only one A727 master kit for '70 Imperial and it's out of stock. In the kit's details it says it also fits for example 62-70 New Yorker.

For '70 New Yorker there are several kits, but none of them lists Imperial. What is different in Imperial's A727 and why would that one out of stock kit fit both, but not the ones that are available for New Yorker? Or is that just a bug?

A & A Transmission is the place to go for torque flight transmission parts. I go there my transmission parts they have a good rep.

Thanks, need to check that. But the problem with many specialized vendors may be the shipping overseas. In Rockauto that's excellent and I can get lots of parts to my other vehicles at the same time and (almost) the same shipping cost. So still a confirmation if the New Yorker kits fit also Imperial, is welcome!

The HEMI trans is a tad different but still can be used behind any "B" motor.....

IF you have any concerns, you can also go into the particular brand's website and double-check or even email them.

Make sure you get at least OEM quality items, no matter where they might come from. Might even be a kit in Mopar Performance? Or Mancini?

Just some thoughts,

The 727 rebuild kits for those years should be all the same. The only difference is the sealing rings on the front pump are either made of cast steel or aluminum. And the high/reverse drum either had a narrow or wide lip seal in the drum and on the piston. Most rebuild kits come with both.

Many years ago I used this kit from B&M to rebuild and upgrade a TFlite in my 340 Cuda, including converting to Full Manual mode (which is fine for a Slapstick car, not so much for a column shift). It's VERY comprehensive in regards to the parts in the box, the levels of performance you might want--and most importantly--a detailed 33 page instruction manual. When I was done there were LOTS of left over parts because it covers any TFlite.
