So she is back on the road. It turned out that I wired the distributor wrong. I know the big blocks go counter counterclockwise. I just wired it in reverse order. She runs like a new car now
I love it! It's your car and unless they are paying for it do what you want to it. My 64 will gat a ghost lace paint on the roof and air ride when I done with showing it off all original survivor.
So I found the problem. I was getting week spark. I switch up to an electronic distributor and it solved my problem. It sucks that it's not all original with it. But she has never run so good. But at least it's a licensed distributor.
Having a hard time finding belts for my 64 Imperial. The new alternator has a smaller pulley and I need to get shorter belts. I can find them with teeth but i can't find the smooth v-belt. Does it make a difference?
When this started that was one of the first things I did cause I know the rear main leaks a little and I didn't want to drop the transmission at the time I did the gaskets.
Ok if I put my hands over the carb it died. If I spray carb cleaner it died. I sprayed the carb cleaner around the manifold and heads and on all the vacuum lines I could fine and nothing. No sudden surge nothing. I'll see if I can upload some videos i took while i did what you suggested. I also...
