I actually have purchased mouldings on eBay when the price was right, not all though. I think the vinyl tape idea is a good one. I also purchased aftermarket isolators for a b body and made changes to them so they would fit.
Had to repair wires in door jamb, source of problem was chafed wire again, respliced wire with solderless connectors, now looking for rollers for window, difficult to find, everything online is for a, b, e bodies.........no c bodies, such bullshit.
The drivers window won’t work from master switch, but the remaining 3 windows will operate from their respective switches. I have tried another master switch with no luck, the interior lights don’t dim at all when pushing button, usually that will cause a slight dimming of the interior lights...
Ironically I bought the same rubber isolator kit, I believe it will also work for the position 1 location at the radiator support, I'm replacing all of the body mount isolators also.
Thanks for the post, I have a 73 New Yorker with the same problem , someone replaced the sunroof drain tube and didn't install it correctly so it just drained into the floor and rotted the same area over time. My repair area looks identical to yours . Where did you come up with the frame support...
Haha, that could be a problem, I have neither, and with the shirt on, I'll never fit through the hole. Looks like I'll have to lube up the arm with 10W40 and jump in.
Thanks for replying , I have the door panel off and need to replace the entire unit, the window is in the way, I can't access the nuts that secure the mirror with the window in place, just wondering how to do it with minimal disassembly.
Hello All, I'm looking to replace the drivers door remote mirror on my 73 New Yorker. Does the glass have to come out to do this. If anyone has experience with this, I'd appreciate some advice.
