Original Vacuum Advance failed, no replacements available

My vacuum advance is no longer holding any vacuum. Original distributor in 383 with pertronix II upgrade. I want the advance at idle, but no one makes a replacement canister for this setup. I can buy NOS canisters but at $200+ might as well but a modern distributor from MSD. Any ideas?

WANTED Hammer crimper? In San diego

I'm looking for a hammer crimper, for 6 gauge alternator wiring upgrade. Can't believe it's not in stock in any hardware store or autoparts store. They sell the wire and lugs at those large gauges but don't have the crimper in stock!

    Thermoquad kickdown with lokar cable

Exactly! I'd rather have a bracket on the carb and stick with the cable. Anybody have this setup?

    Thermoquad kickdown with lokar cable

That's great, but I already have that setup down. I'm trying do the exact same thing with a thermoquad. I'm hoping someone has installed a thermoquad on an automatic car that has a kickdown cable rather than the stock rod system.

    Thermoquad kickdown with lokar cable

I currently have an edelbrock carb installed. I have a thermoquad in the garage which I liked better, but i can't figure out how to get my cable style linkage to work with it. I have seen the gm version of thermoquad which seems to have a more useful bracket. I was just wondering if anyone has...

    Thermoquad kickdown with lokar cable

I have a thermoquad I want to install with a lokar kickdown cable, but the throttle lever on the thermoquad only functions with the a kickdown lever. The action is reversed if using a cable. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? My Edelbrock carb was the correct throttle lever that pulls the...

    Thermoquad accelerator pump nozzle?

I've rebuilt an early thermoquad and am having trouble with the accelerator pump nozzle. One side must be slightly clogged. The other has a solid stream. I've tested it off the carb as well. Clearly it's the nozzle and not a check valve thing. It wouldn't affect just one side anyways. So, any...

Trans cooler interferes with lokar kickdown cable

Here's a photo. I'm pretty sure it's a straight shot from the bracket that holds the sleeve to the kickdown lever. it just so happens that's right thru the middle of the trans cooler line. From this photo it looks like routing above the cooler line might result in no contact but hard to say. I...

Trans cooler interferes with lokar kickdown cable

I'll get a picture later today, I have a 1966 Newport 383 with the 727 torqueflite. The small loop bracket that the braided stainless steel sleeve connects into on the back of the trans cover just happens to aim the cable directly at the cooler line. It's a perfect straight shot thru the center...

Trans cooler interferes with lokar kickdown cable

Anyone install a lokar kickdown cable? The transcooler lines are directly in the path of the cable from it's tiedown at the back of the trans to the kickdown lever. It's like lokar never had seen a trans with cooler lines. Am I supposed to just let it rub on the steel line? I would bend the...
