My Mopar roots, like many in the Detroit area, spring from my father's employment at Chrysler. Dad worked in the Design Department and was responsible for Chryco's exhibit designs. He worked with Virgil Exner (they called him "Ex") and even designed Exner's office. If you're interested, I have a photo of it.
The earliest car I remember was our '59 Savoy. But my blood turned forever Mopar blue when I got a ride in one of the Turbine cars.
Unfortunately, while I'm a darned good nurse, I've never had much mechanical smarts. This and family obligations have combined to limit my forays in to car collecting. Thus far, I've had a '64 Dart GT and a '77 Le Baron coupe from the ranks of Mopar. That's it. And both of those are now gone. Sigh. But I'm coming back! My youngest graduates from Loyola University in April 18. When she does, my austerity days are done! I will be looking for a C-body.
