I paid $4800 for my 69 Newport with 69 k miles 3.5 yrs ago just before the covid shut down. She ran but needed a complete going over after setting for several years. I've put about 8k miles on her since then.
My brother gets a lot of those with his 79 roadrunner. Was following him in my 69 to a car show in a little town north of us. This guy on the sidewalk was was jumping up and down yelling as my brother passed. When I got to him I heard in say "Wait that's not a Mustang"
Haven't pulled the vinyl top off my Newport yet. But when working on my Galaxie, we pulled a little to much lead out of the roof seam when stripping the paint. We just used bondo to fill it back up
Yeah, I bought her cheap in 92. Had fits with the original fi. We had just put in the then bran new Holley throtlebody set up, when she threw 2 rods. Got the new engine in and the alternate burnt the wiring. She has set like that since 95. Plan is to drop a modern hemi and Transmission in...
Always been a fan of the 79 300, just never lucky enough to pick up one. I have an 82 Imperial that's been waiting on me for about 25 yrs. Hoping to get started on her in the spring. Keep us updated on your progress.
I agree with that. Trying not to do anything that couldn't be undone. When we changed grills the original was packed up with the old headlights and stored away. I have a second hood so if I decide to play (always wanted an airgrabber) the original hood can stay intact.
No, going to leave her white. May do something like this. If I remove the vinyl top, it needs some color to break up all the white. I have a set of 300 tail lights and back bumper to put on her.
Nice looking car. Take your time. She will let you know what she needs next. I got my 69 Newport alittle over 2yrs ago. She sat for yrs in an old Indiana firehouse. Took us a month to get her reliable. When we put on the 4 bbl the fuel pump wasn't strong enough. Hold off on the big things...
