Time to get rid of the 25 yr old Earl Scibe paint job.
I've driven her for 5 yrs, now finally ready to start cleaning her up.
Started pulling the chrome on Saturday.
We knew there was a lot of bondo in the rear quarters. Almost left before test driving the car when we saw them. Started stripping the paint and bondo Sunday. Wasn't quite prepared for what I found. There was about a 1/4 inch of bondo. They just slathered it on till they filled in the bottom body line and sanded it smooth.
The front fenders had scab patch panels pop riveted to the outside of the sheet metal bondoed and sanded smooth.
Drivers fender top point never looked right. Yep bondoed to look about right. Not sure whether to try and find a new drivers fender or fix this one.
Next week pulling the seats and carpet to patch the drivers floor board. New carpet and 2020 Challenger buckets read to go in.

Surprised those riveted panels did not suck in water and rust under the bondo..
I'd say you did ok there. Nice car. More pics!

Yeah, I am too. There was a little bit of bubbling starting on the passenger side and the drivers side has a few pin holes. Will see how bad when we pull the panels and fix it right.

Started pulling the interior out so we can patch the floorboards. Test fitted the new 2020 Challenger buckets. Looks like they will fit in easy enough.
Pulled the back seat and found the build sheet. Will get some pics when I get it flattened out.
Got the console out and stripped down for its new carpet. Found 2 sets of little holes, drivers side. One set on each side of the light. Thought they might have held a cb radio microphone. Any one know of anything factory that might have been there.

Got the rusty floor boards cut out. Found a patch panel on etsy for the passenger side. Should get those put in along with the new carpet in this weekend.

Drilled the poprivits out and removed the scab patches on the front fenders. What a mess. Filled with dirt and leaves, rotted out the lower parts of both fenders. Think I am going to try and find another drivers fender.

The Challenger seat appears to be a good fit. I wanted to do those seats but replacing my bench without a center console was why I dismissed it. Good luck with everything.

Man I like that scissor lift. Will it go a little higher? Im done putting lower metal in cars with out getting them up close to 2'.
I can still hit it hard 12+ hours a day for days on end IF.. the work is above knee high..

Yeah, mine is an old bucket seat onsole car. Was going to try and redo the originals, but those challenger buckets were cheaper than recovering the old ones. My have to find a smaller diameter steering wheel.
