Hey all -
I've been following this thread and just finished up my install/swap-out. I was about to take it down to an auto shop to have them fill the system with R134a and they wanted to know what the capacity was. I guess R12 and R134a are different weights and the shop wants to know the...
Did you have to get new belts? I bought the bpe bracket and a sander compressor. Now that it’s mounted, it seems to sit much lower than the rv2 and there tons of slack in the old belts
Thank you! I've been reading/re-reading your thread and commando1's on the conversion you guys did, thank you for documenting so others can follow along. I did find a 13x26 parallel flow and think I'll go that route.

Hi all -
I'm upgrading my system from RV2 to a Sanden style unit (and use 134a). I'm going to replace the condenser (and drier as well). I'm looking for some ideas on what size a/c condenser to get. The stock unit was 26" wide and 16" tall with a 3x3" cutout on the passenger side. I'm looking...
Thanks guys. I'll hook up the new unit and take it to Firestone to flush/oil/charge the system. One more question... the receiver/drier unit has a side marked 'IN' - I didn't pay enough attention to how the old one was oriented - does the 'IN' side go the side closest to the condensor?
Hi all -
It's been a while, but I'm back. I've got a question about the receiver/drier. I sprung a leak over the summer in the receiver/dryer and all my refrigerant went out... I'm looking to replace the receiver/drier and found one at O'reilly's - however when I go down to pick up the part it...
Hey all -
Looking for some advice on what to replace my window glass run with. It's that fuzzy stuff that sits in the window channel to help guide the window up and down smoothly. Mine is all rotted out and the windows rattle in the channel when cruising.

Thanks max1196 - I pulled the harmonic balancer and timing cover off and sure enough it was a missing oil galley plug. The block didn't have one in when I took it to the shop or missed it in my notes/pictures. The book I'm following clearly says there are 4 plugs (2 in the rear and 2 in front...
Hey all -
Been a while, but I'm still around. I finally got back to the short block assembly and thought I'd update with the progress. I had got the pistons re-installed and everything torque'd to spec. I got the timing chain installed along with oil slinger, timing chain cover and harmonic...
