Chirping sound, and where to get rear drums?

Bad wheel bearing “chirp” or “clunk” usually shows up first while making a turn. I always thought greaseless fittings were a joke. However, after changing the steering box/shaft u joint every 250k-500k on my semi trucks.(always at exposed box, not at other end of shaft in cab) My current Truck...

Questions about this rare abandonned chrysler 300k

It hurts to pass up a dream. But practicality plays a big part in decisions. In other words $$$$. Lol. Here’s a few I’d like to drag home. I can fit 2 into my 53’ dry van. Cost me $2000 lost revenue on top of the purchase prices. It’s almost cheaper for me to hire a car hauler. About the same $...

Questions about this rare abandonned chrysler 300k

Today all I see are completely restored cars. I was 16 in 1980. Grew up watching the muscle cars get torn up, rusty, and really enjoyed all the works in progress on the roads. Usually some teenager that never got it completely done before moving on to other vehicles or interests. Last summer I...

I asked deepseek what is the most popular Chrysler C-body car

In 74 it became a Chrysler model. In 76 they dropped the name and changed it to New Yorker Brougham. That split grill body, 74 thru 78 was a beautiful design. I first saw it in the window of the Jefferson factory. Along with a New Yorker, and a Newport. The Imperial really stood out. I only...

    My 383

My 65 Newport has a 383 4bbl. First 4 bbl car I’ve owned. I see it’s factory rated at 330hp. My Dad had a 65 Satellite with a 383, HP335 rated at 335hp My question is, what’s the difference between the two? I think pistons are the same.10:1?? I’m guessing the cam. I think his had a factory dual...

Can I use a b-body gas tank on my C body?

I had a 1990 Ramcharger. Tank was huge. 24 gallons maybe? Can’t help but wonder how it compares in shape to a C body tank. Also have had rust on both my 66 Newport and my 65. Both rusted around the sending unit. Leaking when filled up over half tank. Fixed both with a cheap product called Seals...

I asked deepseek what is the most popular Chrysler C-body car

I thought the Imperial became a Chrysler model, toward the end. Originally it’s own nameplate. 1966, or 1969 maybe?

Ticking sound from dash at highway speeds - speedo cable? Spark knock?

The cable itself is usually the culprit. Gets loose, worsens over time, eventually frays and breaks. If it wasn’t loose, I would rule it out before taking the speedo apart.

    Car shudders when braking.

No telling. but if I had to put money on one thing. It would be lower control arm bushing. As long as the tie rods, idler, pitman, ball joints aren’t falling apart, wheel bearings not loose. I don’t know if having the fronts adjusted tighter than the back would cause it to shudder, just a...

    some more random c bodies

The green 65 Newport is like mine. Except it’s mint. I’ve written mine off for restoration. Just can’t part with it yet.

    Carlisle 2025

I’ve never been to Carlisle. Except while working. (Trucking). Maybe next year. Thank God for YouTube. Definitely have to make it at least once. Be safe driving through the mountains. So beautiful, but probably the most dangerous roads I’ve driven while Trucking. Every trip turns into what I’ve...

    Welcome, R&R

My first question. My 65 has the round speedometer/dash. I thought 65 was the last year, and 66 had the new style. Recently saw a 66 with the round speedometer. Maybe they offered both in 66 on different models? Newport, New Yorker,300? What did I miss? Did the 66 I saw have a 65 dash? Looked to...

Ticking sound from dash at highway speeds - speedo cable? Spark knock?

Also an exhaust leak can be heard at an idle. Especially when first started. The colder, the louder. Often goes away if it’s real small, or only heard in winter time till it warms up.
