Unfortunately, it's time to pass my 1968 Plymouth Fury Convertible along for someone else to enjoy. I can count on multiple smiles and "nice car" every time I take it out. The part that I'll miss the most is taking a whole crowd of family or neighbors out for ice-cream or burgers. I'm just...
To double down on the 'gas' argument -- carburetors are not designed to deal with today's gas. I try and minimize the effect of gas on my tune by always going to the same station and always buying premium. It probably doesn't make a huge difference, but it's one less variable.

My 68 has issues with the reverse lights...but that's mainly because the column shift is stretched/misaligned. I can see the reverse lights flash as I shift through P-R-N on my way to D...so it's just my lazy fault that I haven't adjusted the linkage. IIRC, that's very easy, with instructions...
I think "car dealers" can pay a 2-300 monthly flat fee to ebay and can post something like 10 cars a month, no penalties for cancellation. We bought an adapted van from a place in Arizona that was using it as "cheap" nationwide advertising. eBay Motors - National Vehicle Subscription Agreement...
I think it's called a tonneau cover. I don't know where to look for one, mine came with one.
My interior plastic trim is metallic...what trim are you talking about?

At some point, I will need to redo the dash pad, so there's a chance for me...
But in general, not having a heater is not a problem in Austin.

Should I do anything to dry it out first? I read somewhere that there's a rubber hose that can go bad in there, so I'm hopeful that it's an easier repair than rebuilding the whole core.

Ok, thanks. That did occur to me, but I wanted to see if that was the best way before I tried something. Seems easy enough...
My mind jumps directly to the loop getting tangled in the fan and "a cooling system event".

So, my heater box started leaking...badly...
While I clean that up, and figure out how/what I want to rebuild here, does anyone have easy instructions on how to tie off the heater so I can use the car? (It's almost prime convertible season here)
And while I'm at it...anything wrong with *not*...
Not a rumor, just idle hallway speculation/observation at the office...Apple could buy Tesla easily, and then we'd actually have an AppleCar. And fanboys would buy it, even more than they do now. The only issue that I have with it is the horrific culture clash between those companies...and...
