Hey yall. I've got a 66 Sport Fury, the slide and pin broke and fell out of my drivers side door. Creating an issue , or a couple really. I have found and puchased replacement part, I have removed the interior door panel, handel, window cranks, all that, but I am a little stuck on how to proceed. My Shop Manual, shows a kinda " exploded view, thta shows the inside workings of the door, yet the Manual, does not, to my finding, show how to dismantle the door itself, to access the inside... anyone do this or deal with this on a 66 Sport Fury?

Thanks for your help or input.

I had to do this a few years back. I found the easiest was to remove the window frame. There are two or three bolts that are accessible through the interior door panels. I am sorry I can not explain better than that, but once you remove those bolts, I was able to pivot the entire assembly up and slide the glass with the new nylon pivots into the rail. I referenced the mechanics manual for some guidance.

I did it myself, but it was a struggle that would have gone faster with another pair of hands. The new nylon pivots will probably be tight at first.

I hope this helps.
