Formal caliper brackets on 73 spindles....

Thank you for that link Mr. OneTwo....That vid is making me re-consider my game plan. ;)

I wonder if my problem is with the Napa Calipers I used, as opposed to an issue with the caliper system it's self? I can't see there being a whole lot of different manufacturers for the rubber bushings in these calipers though? Maybe it was a bad batch?

Much to think about an ponder.
Give Wayne a call....maybe he has a line on good bushings or better calipers.

I think I found out where the front rotor/caliper "Clunk" is coming from. When I jacked up the wagon to pull the tranny I grabbed the tires top and bottom to see if I could get the clunk to happen...well I could! I could get at least 1/16th or more movement, and clearly from the rotor on the spindle shaft.

Seems as though the inner and outer bearing and races are toast...both side, I hope it's not the spindle shaft. I'm not sure if it is bad machining on these off shore drilled and slotted rotors, or if the bearings and races that came with them were/are junk? Regardless I've order new Timken bearings and races.

There are two different brackets to mount the sliding calipers on the spindle. You will have to measure yours and get the same depth bracket. then use the calipers and pads for that year. If you need brake hoses Inline tube is the best.
