Hey Guys,

I have powdercoated the subframe for my 1968 Plymouth Fury II. I removed it a few years ago. All the hardware has been cleaned, the firewall cleaned and the floorpans.

The next step is reassembly.

Could you guys post some pics showing how the hardware reattaches the subframe to the unibody? I did not take enough pics during disassembly.

Thanks,

Not sure how this is even a question.
There are 4 bolts (special bolts, with locating cone at the head), no nuts, forward most spots.
There are 2 more of the above bolts with nuts, next mounting point back.
There are 2 shorter bolts with nuts, these go in the vertical part at the very rear.

You may have had shims, these would have gone at the very front.

!!!! BOLT THE TRANSMISSION CROSSMEMBER IN FIRST !!!!
if not the bolts may not line up afterwards.

The hardware alone answers the question, only goes together one way?

The service manual does not have an exploded view showing the subframe reassembly. The '69 manual does have a view like this but the subframe is different.

Yes, I bolted the crossmember in first.

Yes, I have all the hardware laid out. I have six shims, three per side.

I am about 80% sure of where all the hardware goes but I just wanted to verify with some other 68 C-body owners.

The other 20% will be answered once you put it in.

Even on much more complex projects that is how it works, have an idea on what to do and figure the rest out on the fly.
