I'm wondering (first off) if anyone could explain the components that join together to form the bottom of the rear window channel in a 67 Monaco/Polara 2dr HT.

From what I can tell, the dutchman's panel sandwiches with a piece (what the inner window trim anchors too) that goes vertically down to the package tray structure.... I'm just not sure if there's anything else there as most of what was in Beverly is now gonzo and I cant seem to get a read off anything in the service manual.

Second, anyone with experience pulling the window on one of these? I'm fairly familiar with pulling windows that use a seal but haven't done one that was glued (or butyl? I don't even know that..) in. Anything to watch out for?

Let me know what you got and thanks in advance.

Glued in. Simple removal for the most part. Only thing I'm having problems with are locating setting blocks to put mine back in properly. I mean mines in, doesn't leak but sits too low for the trim. So need to be redone.

And you mean outside trim or inside?

I'm talking about the inside trim, specifically the strip that is between the window and the package tray.

You have the plastic spacers?
Yes, they're all there. That metal strip and the anchors seem to be in good shape but the lip of the dutchman's panel is basically gone ... kinda surprised my rear window isn't in a million pieces on the side of the highway right now.

Yeah there should be a lip that comes up and is part of a three panel pinch weld for the lower edge of the backlight.

The yellow part is the deck lid, the chrome is the exterior rear window trim, the crusty layer is looking THROUGH the window channel at the dutchman's panel then there's the strip that the interior trim screws to... IT'S lip looks kind of ok, mostly, sort of .. it's the lip on the dutchman's panel thats gone.... guess I'm gonna be upping my fab game real quick.

But what's the third panel in the three panel pinch weld?

It may just be three panel on the edge where the sail panel comes in, It's been a few years but I remember the three panel pinch. I thought it was odd. If I get out there today i'll look again.

Thanks, man. I've got some organization to do in the garage as the entire interior is now out of the car and kind of scattered about. I'm hoping I can get stuff cleaned up and get the window out this week.

Oh that's it. On the 67, there's that panel that vents via vacuum operated flap. So you have package tray, the panel below the package tray what forms the vent area, and finally the dutchman.

That’s about where I’m at save for the window still being in... that and your window channel appears to still exist.
