Good looking car. It’s in Tacoma, Washington.

I’m getting rid of my 1972 Chrysler Newport. The good: new brakes and belts. the body and interior are beautiful! It’s all original except for the carburetor and it’s got new tires. Everything works.

The bad: the transmission needs to be rebuilt. Worn exhaust manifold. It’s got a 400 and TF727.

The price drop is amazing. It was initially listed for $5k. At $1.8k, assuming the seller's description is truthful, it looks like a steal -- unless, of course, the world is ending and/or we are heading for a Great Depression.

Here are some pics I downloaded at the time:

That's Grandpa's>Grandma's last car without the cancer, well maybe color and body style as her's had the 383 in it so it was a 70/71? Her last driving affair was when my cousin had to come rescue her from a dead end street when she got lost and couldn't turn around, I think it was pretty late at night too. This was some time in the late 80's and the car still had very low mileage, cousin said he was going to take the car and restore it... I said Good Luck.

I just was taking to the “seller” and his profile sure seems like a scammer type. No personal photos and only one profile photo. Also he says the transmission is being rebuilt and he can’t take anymore photos of the car and only sends photos the previous seller had sent me.

Also he doesn’t have a title and says you don’t need one... yea right. I’d be wary. This car sold not too long ago and the price was $4000.

This isn’t the same seller as before. Someone else. And possible scam.

Looks like the Newport has found a new owner, and he recently registered here. Welcome @YTB79, tell us more about the car and its history please (including the different front and rear license plates)!

I’m no scammer bud. I’ve finished the trans rebuild and it’s a nice ride now.

Well I bought the a month ago and had to put it in the shop very soon after because of the transmission. Now it’s out and as far as history goes I’m not too sure. The guy I bought it from said he got it from a friend and you know how the story goes. I saw a cool car and didn’t care that it had no title. So I bought it.

Did you apply for a title yet? Most states want a "bond" while they process and research the title. Usually 100-150 for the bond. At least in MN

I haven’t. Shortly after I purchased the car the coronavirus caused many of the offices to close down so I’m waiting for it to blow over and then I’ll look into a bonded title.
