Mouse Deterrent

Here in AZ the sticky traps catch more geckos and other small lizards than nice or rats. Don't want to kill the insect eater's. I started using the live have a heart traps. If I catch a rabbit or squirrel I let it go. If it's a mouse or rat I put the trap in a bucket of water and drown it.

I am considering getting a couple more of those plug in critter controllers with the high pitched tone. I bought one of them for my basement since it claimed bugs and rodents can't stand the high pitch. I think it has helped a lot since I no longer see the spiders and box elders down there. They are supposed to be pet friendly but I have not too keen on them either for fear of having one short out and start a fire plus taking up receptacle plugs.
Ultrasonic repellers don't work well on mice long-term. Human hearing range is 20kHz. Mice apparently hear up to 100kHz, but if the sound doesn't bother you then is apparently won't bother mice either.

I have a sound-based repeller which is loud and audible. The frequency range is 3-40kHz so it is in human hearing range and it is loud. I have to turn it off whenever I got in the garage because it would drive me nuts. The owner of the building where we used to store our cars in the winter used them and said he never had problems with mice or other pests. One key is that it can make different annoying sounds. He would go into the building once a week and change the sound so the mice don't get used to it. I bought his from him when he sold the property. It's called a "Transonic Cix" by Applica. I searched online and couldn't find that brand name, but it's identical to this:
Transonic PRO | Bird-X Sonic/Ultrasonic Indoor Pest Control

At my place it is different, inside the house I have a sound-based audio repeller which is loud and audible and can generate different, non-stop annoying conversations. I have to retreat and stay in the garage because it drives me nuts. :D
