Is there a benefit to replacing the stock fuel pump with an electric pump?

As crushing a blow that is to hear, it's much better than hearing I need to take the top end of the engine back off. I was installing the throttle cable to test fire the new setup - so what better time to potentially ruin the engine by dropping something?

These half-circle holes in either side of the engine. They are still exposed with the intake installed. If I lose a washer down one of these holes, how screwed am I?

Thanks for the tip! I found a polished stainless QFT plumbing set that has abysmal reviews, hoping to find a nice pro-grade set that won't leak. Springing an extra $50 to have really solid, dressy lines - on top of everything else in there - seems reasonable at this point

Does anyone have a recommendation for nice hard fuel line for a dual-inlet carb? I am putting a QFT 750 PV in, and want something nice to stick on there. I have perused various auto parts sites (as well as Holley's site), but open to recommendations Thanks for any feedback you have! Patrick

I can't find my pitch gage, does anyone know what the thread for the RB block intakes are? I want to run a tap through the holes and dress the threads and clean any crap out of there

Thanks Ned, I've read good things about the Performer line. (Sorry I'm looking at your avatar haha) I also found the correct Offenhauser intake on eBay (the 5762) but it would need a serious polish job.

Ok, let me clarify. I have a 413 - RB engine (413/426/440 block) The intake I received is for a 383. I do not want 383 intakes since they don't fit 413/RB intakes, aluminum preferred. If anyone can link me to a part for sale, I would greatly appreciate it. I hate having wet, oiled engines...

I bought a polished Offenhauser 5762 for a 413 RB. Unfortunately turned out to be a 5764 with the model number taped over, for a 383/400. If anyone has any recommendations for a similar style intake, please let me know ASAP. I have my car torn apart upgrading under the hood and really don't...

Where are you located? Probably safer to salvage what you can and get a new engine or new block.

That's not bad at all, I know fans of each brand rave about performance from "their" brand. I already have the carbs so I'm hoping just getting an intake, but I might sell them instead and buy a kit like this.

How about the Offenhauser 5206 intake? I have a matching pair of Holleys that can go onto it, but not sure if it is compatible with a 64/65 413 engine. Finding the linkages is going to be another pain in the ***, but that's what Google is for. I'm dreaming of a sleeper build, just need some...
