1 swapped a 68 Newport axle into my 61 Fury. Straight upswap. ratio and u I joint were the same. Still retained the trans park brake but the newer brake could be used with a little effert.

I have a 300K that's been sitting in the woods in Crossville Tennessee for a long time. Intact except for the seats and some of the interior. Original engine and trans are in it. Pretty rough but would be a good marriage with this car.

I'm still around..... A lot going on. several shows early in the year. I'm still cooking with the Big Easy Mopar association. I've been picking at Virgil, (my 61 Fury), when I can. Starting to look like a car again. Still a ways to go.

The Big Easy Mopar association held their annual all Mopar show in New Orleans earlier this month in Chalmette Louisiana. Friday was the optional pre show tour. We were taken on a swamp tour tour. always interesting, Then bussed to a huge NASA base in Mississippi. The day ended at a huge Cajin...

I'm scheduled for a heart cath on Monday. That will slow things up a little. Also had cataract surgery on my right eye about 3 weeks ago and will have the left eye done in April. Its been a busy time.

Here is a long overdue update on Virgils, (61 Fury convertible), restoration. Most is unseen detail but body will finally be completed by the end of the month, Everything is painted but the hood at this point. Some pictures.........

I'm beginning to think there was no body/frame ground strap used in 1961. I find no evidence in reference to one in the FSM or parts book.

Next time I get to Carlisle will be when I show the Fury John. Won't be this year though. Body goes to paint and final assembly next month.

1961 Plymouth. does anyone know what type of ground strap was used between the body and engine? also, where was it located. Thanks Will

This is a example of a original OEM seat belt including NOS mounting hardware. The correct belt material is called (7 panel). Look close at it. The webbing material is usually available on ebay in many colors although all originals were a tan/brown color. Most trimmers won't stitch new sebbing...

Belts for your 57 were only available through the factory accessory book over the counter. Placement is where ever is comfortable for you. Originals had a bolt with a loop in the floor with a large washer on the underside. The belt attached with a forged clip.
