My 69 CHP Polara only had the rag joint - manual steering The other Polara I had and my current one only have the coupler - both power steering. Not saying that is the difference, just that the cars (all 69 Polara) I have were that way. Alan

...they will not become quite as much of a safety concern as that material might be if it had to do with the steering of the vehicle. The rag joint materials also have some noise/vibration absorption properties, as well as being forgiving for slight mis-alignments, too. Just some thoughts, CBODY67

Hey Dan, Not that I noticed a difference when I installed it....but wondering if the billet rag joint I installed has anything to do with your "twitchiness"? The old style rubber may absorb that where the metal will not........just a thought???

The car came with a new column as the original was busted. Has anyone replaced one with a after market? Mine is a CPP brand with the 1" DD end looking to adapt to fit. Should I look for a rag joint or just use u joints on each end with a solid shaft?
