just wondering if anyone has ever come across a 78 Newport with a power sunroof ? i never have, but there were 24 2door htops and 24 4door htops made with them for a total of 48.............. which is really scarce compared to the 1,510 NYBs with sunroofs ( 731 2drs and 779 4dhtops)

The ASC sunroofs are a very good design. I doubt manufacturers would have had them installed if otherwise. As long as it's not left open, and the drain tubes are checked periodically, it shouldn't leak. A drain tube coming off wouldn't be good and could potentially happen. I've been in my '71...

The factory sunroof cassette should have FOUR drains, one tube at each corner. Each drain tube will have its own exit location. The front drains should be in the hollow part of the A-pillars and then downward somewhere. The rear drains should be in the C-pillars and exit into the rear wheel...
