What are you working on today??

Installed one of my new espo springs tonight. They both shipped together, but one got separated and should be here tomorrow. Ordered the 6 leaf which is stock for a base Polara. Me being me I borrowed the half spring with the option number and added it to my new pack so have 6-1/2. The arch was...

Uncle Ray is going in for round 2

This year's project is complete! The rear settled nicely after I put the bumper on and put some gas in the tank. Took it for a couple laps around town and the ESPO springs and the KYB shocks are a great combo. Now, I'll be waiting waiting for Carlisle!

Leaf Spring Replacement - Standard or HD

...There seems to be a mid range one based on the part numbers for police and taxi. But couldn’t find the exact information. Any way for me ESPO was about 1/2 of Eaton. I ordered them in mid January so hopefully get them in April. This was the quote I got in late November. Likely up from that...

Leaf Springs - Would you do it yourself?

ESPO, and EATON DETROIT are the two major spring shops. Eaton was the original supplier to Chrysler, so if it were me I'd call them first. Espo gets good reviews too. I spoke to E.D. a few years ago, and their customer service rep was a greybeard Eaton Detroit lifer with them - super...

    1967 Imperial leaf spring isolator

...the centering hole. I used Energy Suspension polyurethane isolators by the way. One spring the center bolt was broken off. I bought new springs from Espo. Heavy duty with 1 inch lift. I painted all the spring hangers and shackles. New bushings all around and U bolts. Also new shocks. Rides great!

Leaf Springs - Would you do it yourself?

Thanks for all the intel on this. Definitely boosting my confidence on this being a DIY. When ordering springs, is there standard part numbers, or are these things basically custom ordered by call ESPO?

Leaf Springs or Air Shocks for sagging 197070 Chrysler 300

Get new springs. I got mine (7 leaf, 1” over stock height) from Espo Springs’n Things. Had to arrange for them to be shipped overseas, took 3 months, and cost some, too. Your purchase will be a lot less tedious. They will drop them to your door in a matter of days.

    Bad News from ESPO

...if they might have "cards" to punch into a computer to make finished leaves pop out of the other end of the machine. When I found out about ESPO, they suddenly became an alternative to Eaton Detroit Spring, which was the first noted spring repro group I heard of for OEM-spec springs. Not...

I have had good luck with ESPO Springs and things. Otherwise, start a Parts Wanted thread here. Someone may have what you need.

68 Chrysler New Yorker Sedan rear springs ?

Call ESPO and tell them what you want. You can get new leaf springs in stock height or raised 1" or 2". https://www.springsnthings.com/ Chances are your springs have sagged, so you may want to consider stock height.

    1967 Imperial leaf spring isolator

...a slightly more aggressive stance (I know - sensitive issue), but not come off as a lifted hot rod. - What spring rate and capacity are the ESPOs? I could ask Laura at ESPO, but if you got it please share. - I assume you replaced the track bar bushings? OE rubber or poly and source...

    WANTED Torsion bars wanted

...and 507 torsion bars. Some as their base spring and some as the higher rated spring. That is why I asked for the actual spring numbers and not the make-model. Murray does not have any. As far as I know ESPO does not deal in torsion bars. Firm feel is too busy to make a single custom set. James

Leaf Springs - Would you do it yourself?

It's absurdly easy and well worth doing. Go to Springs n Things. Spring and Suspension Specialists | ESPO Springs n Things You can order them with a little extra height, or less too. I ordered a new set for our '66, then swapped those into the '68 we got as a replacement when it got totaled...

Leaf springs on 68 Imperial same as other C bodies that year?

A lot of people (including myself) have had good luck with ESPO Springs. It was a good number of years ago, but I got my rear springs from them for my '67 LeBaron, and I think these were different from other Chryslers. They SHOULD however, know the difference..... good luck.

Leaf Springs - Would you do it yourself?

When you call speak to Laura. Very helpful she is.. tell here what your working on and what your current springs have as far as leaf count and she’ll do the rest.

    Replacement Leaf Springs Needed

I've used Espo Springs and Things in the past and have been happy. https://www.springsnthings.com/ Since it's in Pennsylvania, the shipping cost might hurt less from Eaton. EATON Detroit Spring My 300L has a set of Eaton leaf springs and they are good too. I'd say they are both the same...
