A Wrapup of Goodbye and Good Riddance

Wandering. Just my experience here. I've never found a new steering part to be tight. When I install them and turn them individually, they always turn freely. I had to learn the details of the steering boxes just as I had to learn the cause and effect of the steering geometry and alignment...

Finally my own '70 Sport Fury GT

Are the springs you bought from espo look exactly or very close to the originals? Spacers and clamps look original? Six leafs with each bar the same length as original? What did they cost and what was shipping? Putting together a 70 GT also, thanks for any help. Mike

    WANTED Wanted leaf springs

I need leafs for my 66 300. NOBODY has anything in stock. ESPO is a 6 week (probably 8) wait. My 300 has stock 6 leaves. Is it a bad idea to put a 7 leaf spring in?

What did you do to your C-body today....

...to get started on that as a winter project. The carrier and bearings in my current axle are going bad, it was cheaper to purchase one from Murray then To have mine rebuilt. I’ll give it a good power wash and paint, it’ll go perfect with the new leaf springs shackles and bushings I have from...

    Leaf Spring Shackle

B and C body leaf springs

...blush, I'd say no. It would depend on where that inch is lost, so some time with a tape measure might be in order. How about swapping the main leaf between the rebuilt springs? BTW, I'm not a fan of re-arched springs, so IMHO, I'd buy the right springs from ESPO and be done with it. YMMV.

Guess who got new springs today thanks to ESPO Springs 'n Things and the help of @71Polara383? Here are the links explaining my choice of springs -- I had planned on Eaton but ended up going with ESPO. 71 Newport rear suspension question.

I recently purchased the rear springs and hardware for my 71 New Yorker from ESPO Springs. They sell 6 and 7 leaf springs. While you're upgrading, you should consider replacing the bushings too. FYI...keep your old shackles as ESPO doesn't sell the "bent" style needed for your C body.

Smooooth Riding Now, New Springs and Shocks!

I bought the espo 7 leaf but with the 1 inch over stock. I enjoy the ride but did not like the rake that the car had so I put 2 inch lower blocks on it.
