what is best size torque wrench to buy

...types, the bending bar (which was the first type, from back in the 1960s) and the "clicker" (like everybody I knew had). I first used it on lug nuts, in a torque sequence. They were 1/2" drive, so I bought a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter at Sears. No problem. Later, I bought a clicker. What I...

How necessary is brake swedging for these hubs+drums?

...is concentric. Just like tire balance, the front end is much more sensitive than the rear axle when it comes to things that can cause a vibration. The swaged drum is not a safety thing. Once the lug nuts are tight, everything is tightly pulled together and the studs cant go anywhere. Jeff

Dumb question: removing wheel covers, and right-hand lugs?

It's embarrassing for me to have to ask, but what's the best way to get my wheel covers off? Typically wheel covers have a pretty pronounced lip a the edge where it's easy to pry, but my Fury's covers are remarkably flush to the rim face, and there's about half-an-inch of rim past the wheel...

Can you help a Small block Chevy guy understand a 1962 Chrysler 413 with cross-ram manifold? - compression and pump gas?

...GM and sometimes cost a bit more... But if you've had other cars, you probably already know that. Grab a factory service manual and parts manual from MyMopar Remember left side wheels have left hand thread lug nuts and the distributor in your 413 turns counterclockwise and you'll be all set.

    RALLY WHEEL LUG NUTS ?

The ones on my Cuda were correct and I had checked with others that came with their cars and they matched mine. I do not believe yours are the original ones but aftermarket. Call up PG Classic as they are one of the best reproduction companies out there from my experience. They would not...

...been involved with different kinds of auto racing over the years. As with any garage you may take your car to, if yours still has left-hand lug nuts, point this out very clearly to them. When I took one of my cars to get new tires installed, I taped a note right on the fender. One catch with...

...driver was very helpful and made sure she had a hotel before he dropped her off. Great little Mom and Pop shop, replaced the studs and added lug nuts, moved her tire that came off to the rear. They even came to the hotel and picked her up. And checked all the other wheel torques. $257. Before...

Wheel bearing hub assembly on FRONT!

...front drums don't come with hubs. It looks like the studs have been replaced, so it was pressed apart and the new drum just slid on. I did my Barracuda like this when I had to put new drums on it. So, nothing to worry about, the hub centers the drum and the lug nuts hold it together.

Will an electric impact wrench give satisfactory results vs air wrench?

...the other is 440 ft.lbs ($160). I would tend towards the $75 model because of my anticipated very infrequent use. I wouldn't buy it for lug nuts, I use a cross wrench for that. I use elbow grease, 3/4 inch sockets and drives and extension pipes when I need to, and I generally get the job...

Dumb question: removing wheel covers, and right-hand lugs?

You have to get under the lip. I would start with a plastic trim tool to start, and finish with a bent tip pry bar or a wheel cover tool specific for that job.

...know how I got through life until then. Everyone should have a set of these in their box. These are better for this task than a die because these are made to clean up rather than cut a thread. Speaking of lug nuts. I bought a new set because these were worn. That's something to watch for.

Has anyone had Road Force Balancing done (either to fix a problem, or because it's sort-of standard now) ?

...(or the ACTUAL center of rotation) of the rim vs the lug holes. In other words, our stamped steel rims are centered by the studs and lug nuts, not necessarily by the center hub hole. And certainly the magnum rims were not designed to be hub-mounted / hub-centered or hub-balanced. Next...
