Just bought a 69 Sport Fury Convertible

The car was originally "put into service" by Chrysler in March of 1969, it was removed from service July 1969, the "statement of vehicle sale" is dated September of 1969 when the original owner took delivery at that time it had 4000 miles on it, the title is dated May 1972. The car is fully...

    400 with a 440 transmission mix-n-match issue?

As mentioned, you possibly have an internal balance and external balance component mix issue. A forged steel crankshafts big block engine has a neutral balance torque converter or flywheel and neutral balance vibration damper, or harmonic balancer, except for 1970-1972 440 6-barrel and many...

WANTED Wanted: Dodge Chrysler Plymouth Mopar Engine Mount cable

I think it might have been associated with the Sure-Grip rear option. The other Polara I had (not the CHP one) that had a 318 had the cable as well, that car had the Sure-Grip rear. There are special bushings and spacers, the spacer at the top is stepped and goes in the ring ie a bushing. There...

Yes I agree about the rear end gearing, I think we will go with a 3.23 when we get the new engine. It sounds like you did very well on that New Yorker!

Sway bars 1/2 the price of Firmfeels version, any one tried these?

mine had an unknown rear bar that's been in it over 20 years...it wouldn't clear the new TTI exhaust (2 1/2) where it turned down behind the axle...i would have had to put spacers at least 1/2 inch thick between the brackets and the frame rails to use it...will probably attempt to make it work...

Getting more power in a C body

The best all around rear gearing is the 3.23, especially if you intend to tow with it. Anything less you will be struggling to get up and go and using way to much thottle opening just to cruise with a reduction in fuel economy by a lot. The purpose of any gear ratio is to multiply torque. The...

Labor cost for pressing axle bearings??

Mighty fine on the Timken bearings. I used National bearings on my recent axle bearing repair; but I wish I'd used Timkens. End play on my setup worked out to be .017. I thought all was well with my repairs, but on the way home from Carlisle, I noticed some noise from the rear end. I could...

And who said only B bodies could fly? Man it is bad. Pounds of mould in there. All hiding under the carpet, trim etc. Stub frame is so bad it punched through the floor in 3 places. The frame gave up before the bolts holding the leaf spring bracket did. And the capper is that the...

    Klunk when shifting

I get the concern, I don't drive it much these days. It'll get its turn at some point. I had another 9 1/4 to go in but it was almost as bad. That one had a sure grip in it though, I plan to go through the rear end when I put it in.
