    Keys

Other than the shape of the key's "head", there should be a small letter stamped just below the head. As is on the keys for my '70 DH43. The ignition is the Pentastar head with "A" stamped on the flat area before the key cuts start. The trunk key is the round head, with a "B" stamped below...

    Locked keys in the trunk

I can't understand why or how people are so stupid to open the trunk, pull the key out, then toss the keys in the trunk, then proceed to lock them in there when they're done! Is it really that hard to double check your pockets for your keys before closing the trunk?? I see that for some that...

    Locked keys in the trunk

I had a pile of Mopar keys, it's one of those 'Pocket Pull' items you get while free roaming the junkyards. See a ignition key, pocket it, same with the trunk and I was kind enough to open the trunk and pop the lock cylinder out for the next guy that needed access to the trunk! :lol...

    Locked keys in the trunk

I gotta say, I own a half dozen newer cars and they all open remotely. I haven't stuck a key in a trunk in years.... until I decided to grab the parts I had stored in the trunk of the polara. I hope to not do that again. My first instinct is to make a trunk key copy, and then never make the...

    Locked keys in the trunk

Ha IIRC, the 57-ish Chebbies only had 7 key patterns and you could pull the key in the off position. One could operate the vehicle without a key. I know that 60-64 Corvairs had that style of ignition lock. Just not sure if they only had 7 ‘key patterns’...

    Locked keys in the trunk

The same way you were conceived, stubbs... It was an unfortunate accident, that I'm sure more than 2 people regret.

    Slab Side key question

If 1 diamond key opens both doors and another diamond key works the ignition switch it could be most likely be a stolen car victim of a dent puller thief as the dent puller destroys the switch and very rarely is the tumbler part left behind as it is screwed pretty well unto the the dent puller...

NOT MINE 1972 Plymouth Fury Gran Coupe - $9,150 - Chesterfield, Virginia

Just an FYI, The car had been gone thru mechanically, it was registered and driven in Virginia, all the repairs were done to the car in 2018 and immediately registered and taken to shows and events. There were no known problems with the car, it ran great. (a stalling issue simply was bad...

    Locked keys in the trunk

If you are worried about locking your keys in the trunk put a spare trunk key in the glove box or in a magnet key holder under the back seat. It is far easier to get into the car than the trunk, most of our cars are of the era that you need the key to lock the doors (unless you learned the...

    Locked keys in trunk

Going back to the original question - I made the same bonehead mistake last year at a car show and locked my keys in the trunk. In the words of Homer Simpson - DOH!!! I took the advice of a couple of folks at the show with lots of old car experience and called a locksmith. They came out...

    Locked keys in the trunk

My 68 requires the key to lock the door so I'm good there. But the trunk issue is that my kids want to open it, which I let them. Then it's a matter of getting the keys back. At Carlisle I had a set of keys, the wife had a set and there is a set hidden on the car.

SOLD Gorgeous 1969 Dodge Charger RT/SE for sale, $89.5K.

For sale is my 1969 Dodge Charger RT/SE. I'm getting older now and need to send it to a good home, preferably a younger person who has a love for these cars and will appreciate what they have. Locked keys in trunk

I have a recent story I like to share relating to this topic... As most of you know Maggie and I have been working on her 69 Fury III. The car is stored in a friends place about 20 minutes away from home (its free storage can't complain). We keep a spare ignition key with the car should the car...

    Locked keys in trunk

Just asking - how much did that cost? I’ve only ever made my own keys so I’ve never called one out for help. I’m sure there’s got to be a standard field charge. I guess if you were already at a car show it’s not like you were stranded mad and waiting so talk about good timing bud!!!

    Locked keys in the trunk

I was raised not to do stupid **** like locking keys in the trunk. You must be the type of person that checks a loaded gun by pulling the trigger Instead of physically checking it!

Texas auction of a Mopar Hoard.

I'll do a separate one on the 1968 Plymouth Fury I PK car. Bidding went up quite a bit on the final day but nothing really happened at the hammer. (final minute) I didn't think to much of the car even if it was a bonifide PK car as it (LOL) had 'Honest Rust' in the usual places and was a...

    59 dodge input needed

I hauled it home late this afternoon. just putting wheels and tires on it increased its value by 500 bucks. That's is a 64 windsor up on blocks. I pulled the engine and trans. Last night I phoned a mopar buddy. He filled me in on metal interchange. Says he has a rust free 64 chrysler parts...
