NOT MINE 1978 Chrysler Newport 4dr Hardtop - $1,000 - Forest Grove, Ore.

At least it's manual A/C. That alone is worth the asking price to not have to deal with Autotemp II. Kevin

    72 Imperial climate control

...to sell the car, that "made to fit, universal" hvac system might detract/scare off some potential buyers more than a non-functional AutoTemp II system might. I know that unless I had the connections that @saforwardlook has or has made, I would NOT want a universal aftermarket system, even if...

NOT MINE 1973 Chrysler New Yorker for Sale on Ebay - Low Miles, 4 Door

I must have missed your original post in the 1973 Chrysler thread....! New owner probably decided he couldn't deal with Autotemp II - it still has the original controller. Not a big problem though. Just another $800+ or so....

Update from Quirey Quality Design on Washer Bottles for Fuselage Cars

Indeed, but perhaps an interesting exercise anyway, I seem to recall a thread or post where someone stated they'd got their system working again but that may have been the later Auto Temp 2 system. My main thought is that nearly 60 years on it can't be that difficult to sort out old technology...

For Sale Mine 73 Imperial 4dr on ebay no reserve

Just curious, you indicate the a/c will be charged before the car is sold. I was wondering whether the Autotemp II controller is original or the replacement one from Performance Analysis Company? Does the system currently work and control/modulate at least the heater temperature currently...

    SOLD 1973 Chrysler Imperial

Mercedes Benz bought the patent rights from Chrysler for the Autotemp II system but substantially improved the quality so they wouldn't fail every two years under normal use, just like Chysler's non-Autotemp II heater control valves made of bakelite plastic. Chrysler lost a lot of customers...

Exact Replacement A/C Components Now Becoming Available for Our C bodies

I spent considerable time looking through all my 1969 through 1973 parts books (I have them for all the years) while waiting to go to my Christmas dinner engagement and came to some preliminary conclusions. It appears my assumptions that all fuselage vehicles would likely have the same heater...

For Sale Not Mine - 1969 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron 4-door hardtop

...the system inoperable. Often hobbyists do not take the time to learn how the system works to fix it, or are discouraged by the cost. The Autotemp II version with the under-hood servo (Fuselage cars)has aftermarket support because they were used on Mercedes cars. So you can often get them to...

1969 Imperial I may be pulling the trigger on today

ONE way to do that car would be to PRIORITIZE things. Get the vinyl roof and related items done. That makes it look better, up front. Not worry about the bubbles over the rh rr wheel, YET, but DO inspect that area too!! Then work on getting it running and operating as it should. Interior...

NOT MINE 1971 Chrysler LeBaron Sedan 4D $7,500

...gold leather interior, always a blast! It is an A/C car but I don't see any heater valve in the engine bay pic, so it probably was/is an AutoTemp II car with a failed heater valve/servo. Note the hardware store type horn button on the steering wheel pad, most likely installed due to failure...

Exact Replacement A/C Components Now Becoming Available for Our C bodies

You know... I have some assorted fuselage C-Body A/C heater boxes stashed away. They aren't good enough to put in a car and I was saving them just for the heater cores and evaporators. The boxes are nothing to me though... If @CoolerClassics is interested (and a little patient, can't do it...
