    Battery size?

IF you want a completely "black" battery, Interstate Battery has them. Three different warranty levels and prices, usually. ANY battery, Grp 24 or 27, will have a good bit more power than the OEM batteries of 1965. So that "small" grp 24 battery will have more power (CCA) than the grp 27...

Interesting thing about the tire - I searched but can find NOTHING about Stratton-brand tires. I wonder if that's a bias or radial tire. Here's one of my rims before I had my Hankook's mounted to it: I used elmers school glue to mask the ribs before I sprayed the centers with flat black.

    Battery size?

The group 24, 27 and 34 batteries have practically identical widths (6.75 - 6.9 inches). The 24 and 34 have identical length (10.75) but the 24 is an inch taller (8.15 vs 7.15). Interestingly the 24 is only 2 lbs heavier than the 34 (38 vs 40 lbs). The 27 is the same height as the 24 (8.15...

    Engine compartment restoration: 1964 Newport

Nice catch - I can't imagine Chrysler intended that to be over the exhaust manifold. Also, the picture in post 7 shows that towards the outer fender.

Thanks for sending this. That connector body is a little better than what i have currently (no pun intended) on the harness ... i might search around a bit for something better.
