I have a replacement engine wiring harness from Evans wiring, it has an extra female spade connector where the 12v ignition connects to the ballast resistor, conveniently located for my installation. It can be connected to any switched 12v.

courtesy lights - bench seat cars?

I had a 68 VIP. It had courtesy lamps at the kick panels mounted under the dash. And map light. Yes they used the pink and yellow wires. They were an option as part of the light group package. Body is ground so the yellow wire is on the door switch circuit and pink is on the dome lamp/ dimmer...

69 chrysler 300 need new ignition box should i get an MSD?

...MSD, about 8 owners ago, it was known to be good stuff. They even had some "-C" products which plugged right in to the OEM Chrysler wiring harness, too. To me, the referenced MSD 6AL unit is more of a drag racing item than something for a stock engined vehicle. BTAIM I'm NOT going to get...

    Turn signal issues

...a new Shee-mar switch; $8X vs $12X. I don't mind spending $40 less. I also advise our O.P. and others to keep a sharp eye open for wiring harnesses for this stuff, the dash wiring, front and rear lights, et al, unless they really feel confidant that they can remake the harness with naught...

69 and older voltage regulator vs 1970 and newer in 1969 C-Body

Thanks @Vaanth - awesome reply / info! I think i will procure a new solid state 69-Down unit for now since everything is fairly recent and in good order. Appreciate the insights. I will keep an eye out for that B-Body mount ... kinda reminds me of the ignition module mount i snagged off a 73...

    Dashboard Woes

I have a considerable bit of the old 1966 Newport wiring harness which I removed from Mathilda's carcass before consigning it to the scrap yard. It's NOT in good shape, and I know not how long ago it was hacked, but after it cooked just a couple weeks after I bought her 9 yrs ago, I repaired it...

1967 Plymouth fury III hazard light question??

...SF before I put it away for the winter. It's not the one behind the ash tray, that's for the turn signals. The 4-way was taped to the wiring harness beside the fuse box under the dash to the left of the steering column. It has it's own separate freestanding fuse nearby, in my case that was...

    Rebuilt radio causing ignition problems.

...something out, blowing fuses, dash lights or worse your fuel gauge. When I had my radio rebuilt for my 1968 Fury III I recall the wiring harness coming back very different than what was originally on the radio. It was definitely not plug and play with the old harness. If you go through the...

Ty. Will try to create a tool like that. No not a Saginaw. Unfortunate set back as the cam that locks & releases turn signal broke while replacing wiring harness hence this current debacle

    383 keeps breaking mount

Right on RIGHT ON! You'll be EVER SO GLAD you did! Before I bought this cable, (mine is an Original BTW, but no matter) I used a chain. Within the first couple weeks of driving my 383, I had to repair BRAKES before I could attend to details under the hood. THAT reared its UGLY head up when...

    Convertible rear speaker

...RMS per speaker to 22.5 watts per speaker. This requires a need to upgrade from those factory speakers. Supposedly the sound is remarkably better. You can get deeper bass, more articulate highs and max output power. You have a choice of using the old connections or a new wiring harness. Keycor.

Tilt / telescopic column with rimblow wheel

No wiring changes needed to swap out to a regular column, it’s plug and play with the factory harness. Replace the rag joint and you are good to go. Finding a decent un-cracked wheel is the tricky part, but I agree, so much better than a non-functioning horn and column.

    AC/Heater Duct

My son is about to start the process of replacing the dash wiring harness in his '66 Imperial. I recommended that he do some preventative maintenance while the dash is out. 1963 Imperial - Bulkhead Connection and Alternator Upgrade - Please help me understand?

Wow, thank you SO MUCH, @72RoadRunnerGTX and @Big_John ! This community is great. I was thinking as I ate dinner tonight that running the fans from the starter relay would be a bad idea, exactly as you described: all the fan current would have to flow through the dash harness before it reached...
