Will a Generic Dorman check valve work in my Midland-Ross booster?

THANK YOU DAVE, for confirming my suspicions regarding this booster. Sitting in a HOT Arizona barn for several decades probably would dry out and crack even a brand new diaphragm, so my surprise that the thing works at ALL is all that remains. It's not working terribly well now. I'm sure the...

    1974 Imperial Brakes

I would suspect the T&C master is fine, but to be sure, get yours rebuilt, and the booster too. Brake fluid is hard on boosters. There was a guy selling the whole rear rotor setup here on the site some time ago. Here's one hit: For Sale - 1974-75 Imperial Rear Brake Rotor Here's another...

    Brake pedal doesn't return

As noted, usually this is the result of a bad brake booster. One of the symptoms of a bad booster is that it will take more than normal brake pressure to stop the car. Do you hear a steady hiss or does the engine stumble as the brake pedal is applied? That is another symptom of a bad booster...

    Recommendation for brake booster rebuild??

looking for recommendations for where to get my 67 Fury brake booster rebuilt l. Front disk and rear drums on this one from the factory. Found replacement Budds calipers and pads and now booster is going! I'm in FLORIDA if you know of someone close with a good reputation for rebounding old boosters.

    Are there any other options?

Tuff Stuff has a pretty good variety of power brake boosters. Here’s a link: Power Brake Booster 9" #2229NB - TUFF STUFF Performance Accessories You can call them regarding fitment.

    Disc Brakes for an Imperial

That master cyl which @detmatt references looks like a '67 C-body master cyl to me. As it also replaces the '66 C-body power brake master cyl, I suspect so, especially as the '66 and '67 used the same boosters. BTAIM The bulk of the places looked (above) tend to be something of "mass market...

Master cylinders and power brake boosters: P/D/C 1969-1971

I recently acquired another 1970 Dodge convertible. The car came equipped with all the round drum brakes. The brakes work well at high speed but not at low speeds, so my plan was to have the power booster rebuilt by Booster Dewey. It now appears that there is a slight brake fluid leak too...

New to Mopars, disc brake questions

Use the metering block/proportioning valve from the '73. Different brake boosters with different shapes were used from 70 - 73 on power disc brake cars and station wagons, at least for some of those years used a different booster. If you buy and take parts off the 73 Newport you could see if...

Looking to change drums to disc from 71 CBody to 68 - anything to know?

Do NOT use the original drum booster with a disc brake conversion system. Do not. Yes, there are others who say that the drum booster is fine with a dsisc sytem, but it is not. The factory had two different boosters for the two systems because the disc system needs a greater vacuum boost to be...

    Booster blues

Bolting to the firewall shouldn't be that difficult. On my 66 there is a thick plate behind the booster for structural support. It will make a good template for where to drill holes. The critical thing is the pedal rod needs to be centered in the large hole in the center. I'm not sure about the...

67 Newport Disc Brake conversion rod question

...power drum brakes? The manual pedal assembly is different than the power brake unit. The second issue is that most of the conversion brake boosters are configured for B or E-Body applications (that is what the linkage adapter is for) and that booster is smaller than a normal C-Body booster...

New to Mopars, disc brake questions

AFAIK, the later pedal assembly will NOT fit in your 66 Polara. You need a 65-68 C body power brake pedal assembly and mounting plate. Both disc and drum boosters will bolt up just fine, but it is HIGHLY recommended that you get the 65-69 disc brake power booster. I know from experience...

    Another booster question.

I installed one of the repop booster kits in a friend's Challenger about a year ago, and I still haven't got the bugs sorted out yet. We started out with an absolutely terrible mushy brake pedal and have improved things up to a somewhat soft, but effective brake pedal. 1970-74 Mopar Cuda...

1969 Chrysler New Yorker Booster and Master Cylinder

The 69/70 boosters are exceedingly hard to find. Exceedingly. The vendors like RockAuto and OReilly say they have them on their sites, but they don't, period. And Booster Exchange WILL NOT have one in stock or a rebuildable core, and neither did anyone else in the booster business when I was...

Meet Regina FQ3, a 1970 Polara convertible who turns 51 today

Back in March of last year, @71Polara383 replaced Regina's booster and master cylinder with those from DH23L0D301864 (a 1970 Monaco that he and I parted the year before). That poor Monaco left the factory equipped with disc brakes, but a previous owner at some point installed...
