    Cool Tool

That butt connector tool is pretty cool. I have been using these waterproof heat shrink butt connectors all the time now.

    Radio interference, I'm out....

I agree there will be a constant power lead connect it straight to the battery and then hook the noise suppressor to the power lead which is switched.

    Radio interference, I'm out....

Only thing I can add is adding an in-line noise suppressor for your new radio. I worked at a big car radio store many many years ago. Sometime and usually from an older cars, there would be bad interference when the engine was running, a noise suppressor seemed to always fix the problem

Dim turn signal on left side.

You are definitely right that there is always something, I just hope that most of the time that it is something doesn't prevent me from getting home. :)

Dim turn signal on left side.

Problem solved feeling kind of stupid. First thanks @Dan Scully for the electronic diagnostic tool suggestion, very slick tool. I checked continuity at every location and they were fine. Then I discovered the bulb at a rear location spun but filaments were fine, that has got to be it, no it...

Dim turn signal on left side.

This just popped up, everything on the right side is fine. The left side blinks at the same frequency as the right side, but every bulb barely lights from dash, fender, front and rear. Ground issue somewhere?

    1973 Dodge AM/FM Stereo Components ?

I'll be honest I've not familiar with your set up. Everything I put black into my 66 is aftermarket but hidden. Your crossover is just simply restricting the frequencies that go to the speakers, such as cutting out the highs or lows in the music. It is designed for the factory speakers. I would...

How to Change Bulb on Fender Top Marker Lights

I remembered it was a pain on my 66 300. Here is an old post. It might be easier on your Newport, but it will give you an idea. Add trim removal guy to the list

    Car stereo upgrades

Good luck with what ever you decide, I debated for some time about it. One budget item I did find and am very happy with is the 4 channel amp from Crutchfield. It is their off brand but the second one I have bought and very happy. A lot of bang for the buck. Sound Ordnance M75-4 Compact...

    Seat Motor Override?

The guys can tell you the difference from the power bench to the bucket seats, but I presume they are similar. Here is the restoration of mine and there should be some useful information in there. Power seat and 4 channel amp

You did better than me when I installed mine last year. I found it in the diagram but could find the actual circuit breaker. :)

    Total power loss

Something else to check my voltage regulator has gone out and basically you're running on the battery. Since you had the the heater on the blower would have been running. And my case I was jumped leaving the cable hooked up for a good 5 minutes probably 10 miles no electric running in my car I...

    Should i spray anything?

I would first clean the connections with denatured alcohol and pipe cleaners. I personally would not use WD-40, but that's just my opinion. After cleaning I agree with dielectric grease, a little goes a long way.

    Electric defroster strips?

Since we went off subject, a front window wired defroster was in 2004, and still is an option on Sprinter Vans. It was a $1000 option in 04 now it is $300. You can see the wires but everyone said you get used to it.

    Electric defroster strips?

I know back in the 80s, we used to install them on cars which didn't have them, so I know they work and were available. I can't remember the brand we used. It made me remember a story. I guy insisted we install a set on the lower half of his front windshield. We stated we weren't allowed...

    Wiring a headlight relay

If no one gets to you with info, I did this on my 66, and can send pictures and locations. I would be able to do this until probably Friday evening. Great improvement, I had mine installed a couple of years ago and kept everything hidden for the most part.
