Emissions era air injection tube rusted off manifold

Maybe, like you said, find a bolt that almost fits and screw it in, only use some JB Weld around it to hold it in and seal it. If the manifold was easy to get off, then I would tap the hole and put in a plug.

    Shaking 360 LA

I agree, but with an aggressive cam you might feel it at an idle. It is worth looking into. He just needs to do what you said about checking it.

    Shaking 360 LA

So, what changed since it started to idle roughly? It was running good with a smoother idle and now it is shaking. Is it possible you have a broken mount. In the replies above there are some ideas on how to stiffen the mounts, maybe one is broken. If it is, it might not be that easy to detect...

Did you add the EFI or did you get it that way?

    Shaking 360 LA

What cam is in the engine? From the video it just sounds like it has an aggressive cam causing a rough idle.

rebuilt 301 vibrates at around 3k RPM or 40 mph

I had a 1974 318 that I put in a 57 Plymouth years ago. The engine had been sitting for a long time. I put a rebuilt carb. on it, new plugs, ign. wires, cap and rotor. It had electronic ignition. Everything was good and it started right up and idled perfectly. It had a 904 behind it that also...

Introducing my new-to-me 1961 Newport.....and everything wrong with it.....erm...so far.

What furious70 said about the brakes, but it could also be the drums need to be cut.

65 Imperial with a 413 CI that cranks but won't start

Those plugs didn't get that way from anything the first guy did. They look pretty old, and that might have been the reason why it wasn't running well in the first place.

    Small block supercharger

For that kind of money you can get a nice high performance crate motor. How much horsepower are you looking for. Your post says you already redid the engine. Did you build it stock or with some modifications. There are quite a bit of cars out there running fast quarter mile times without a...

Thoughts on the value of a 1959 Dodge Coronet?

I think he said he would be okay with a 4 door.

Thoughts on the value of a 1959 Dodge Coronet?

That's a nice DeSoto. I think that model came with the 361. As long as the frames are good, I was never too worried about the floors. They can be had from several different model donor cars. You want to do them right, but they don't need a lot of bodywork. Just some quality seam sealer after...

This rubber trunk mat available for my 57 Belvedere?

If it is running well, I wouldn't worry about the compression numbers. They are pretty consistent and it doesn't smoke. I think the 2 barrel 301 Poly was rated at 8.5 compression ratio. The 290 HP Fury 318 was rated at 9.25. None of the Plymouth Polys were rated higher than that. I had Jahn's...

    My neighbor ruined my plans

I live in New York and the penalties may seem harsh until you are hit by one of these morons driving without insurance. I hope he is going to pay to have your car fixed.

This rubber trunk mat available for my 57 Belvedere?

Wow, I've owned quite a few, but I've never seen a plate like that on a 1957 Plymouth. Where is it located? Is that the tag on the firewall?

65 Imperial with a 413 CI that cranks but won't start

If it was running before the "mechanic" got his hands on it, do you still have the points and condenser he took out? If you do, I would try putting them back in to see what happens. What was the reason he was working on the car in the first place? Was it running poorly and you wanted a tune up...

65 Imperial with a 413 CI that cranks but won't start

From that picture it looks like the points are not set correctly. Big_John circled the area and if that is the case, it will never start. Points are not that difficult to set up. The factory manual should tell you how to do it.

This rubber trunk mat available for my 57 Belvedere?

Chryslers and I think DeSotos also had a rear defroster as an option. My 57 has the speaker shaped holes too and I think they are for the rear defroster. As far as I know, it was not an option on the Plymouths, but the package trays might interchange from model to model so the Plymouths would...

This rubber trunk mat available for my 57 Belvedere?

These cars also came with "cardboard" panels that covered the inner wheel wells and the quarter panels. I have a set on my Plymouth, but you don't see them that much. You can see them in these pictures.

This rubber trunk mat available for my 57 Belvedere?

The trunk mat in my '57 is mostly intact. It is however petrified and will break into pieces if removed. It is not the original one. It came from a parts car I got that had 47,000 miles on it. The engine was shot on the parts car, so I ended up putting in a newer 318 and drove it for about 10...

rebuilt 301 vibrates at around 3k RPM or 40 mph

I don't think the valves would cause any vibrations. Maybe some clicking noise, but that should be all. Aside from the ball and trunnion and the rear universal joint, maybe the drive shaft has a slight bend or is out of balance.
