Get rid of the points, either go Pertronix or get a Mopar type conversion kit with ECU, harness, and distributor. New points type parts nowadays are inferior Chinese crap , especially Condensors. They crap out a lot unless you score NOS or NORS quality parts. Hope this helps.

planning on doing what you just said related to changing the exhaust manifolds. Picked up a set of 67 c body manifolds. Visual they discharge very close to the LB manifolds.

It is but the cherished salvage extra cost (minimal) you don’t have to buy it back and haggle over what the salvage value is.

Went and drove the car around town with the new radiator, no leaks, and in the early evening with temps around 80 it never went over 190. Interestingly it actually idles cooler in traffic than it runs at high speed, would that seem to indicate I'm not getting enough water flow at high speed...

If you did take it back off, I would bet you will see a hole or crack from the ball flange side

This place is still in business, it's in Fife, WA and looks EXACTLY like the photo. I think it's been there since the 50's or so. If you are anywhere nearby stop in for one of the best burgers on the planet. A bacon double cheeseburger is my go-to any time I'm close enough to stop in.
