I did that, and adjusted the kickdown and i went from the pushbutton trans not going into gear, and no 3rd gear shift, to a perfectly functioning pushbutton, and a nicely shifting transmission in all...

    Decided to change out this decrepit inline filter while i am under the car... had a tough time getting it off, did not want to mess up the cooler lines as i am trying to get this car going as a driver without getting real deep into it from a $ perspective.. Took some heat with propane torch...

    So i wanted to clean my trans pan, and change fluid on my 62 Newport with a 727 transmission.. After pulling the pan, i noticed this screw in the side of the valve body on the driver's side, shift cable side, toward's the rear of the car... there is a plate with 5 small phillip's head screws...

    Not sure about width, the car has 215/70/14 tires on it .. Did not know different widths are available? It is a stock 1962 Chrysler Newport.. it did not come with a spare tire so just need something in case i get a flat... ( i can find a tire up here, but not a rim ha ) Would you be willing...

    Went to town, and back again.. decided to go with high quality, made in USA K&N pump... going to plumb it, wire it up quick, and heat up the block again to see if this takes care of the tapping noise... There is no point in working on the car any longer if it needs major engine work, there is...
