    Carburetor for '69 300 with base 440

Hello all. I fear my carb is probably shot from my engine fire last July. I ultimately plan to make the motor dual exhaust with high-flow exhaust (can't fit headers on it unfortunately), but for now, I just want to get it running again. In short, what is the biggest carburetor I can put on...

    Engine Fire

Thanks everyone. The rubber fuel hose has been mentioned and duly noted. One concern; and I may have jumped the gun earlier; is the gaskets, primarily around the carburetor and the intake manifold. On the one hand, I'm thinking they're exposed to heat constantly anyway, but on the other hand...

    Engine Fire

Had a bit of a scare this afternoon. I took my steel lady out for a cruise and when I returned home, I saw smoke coming through the grill and thought, "That's odd!" I opened the hood and had a small fire under the air cleaner in front of the carb. Luckily, the FD is literally up the road and...

    Hypothetical Question

Thanks for the input. As i mentioned, it's a hypothetical. When I was sixteen, I "built" hot rods out of a J.C. Whitney catalog, thinking I could just "bolt on" a dual quad or six-pack and headers for instant WOW! But I've since learned that when you cnage one thing, you have to chnage other...

    Hypothetical Question

I have a Chrysler 300 with the standard 350 hp 440 and one of my favorite engines is the 440 six-pack. I'm sure there are more differences between the base 440 and the six-pack than just two extra barrels, but what would happen if I decided to "bolt on" a six pack. I'd be more than doubling the...

What's the top speed you have driven in your C-body?

I got my 69 300 up to about a hundred (speedometer was showing 110, but the GPS said 100) during the shelter at home days. That was all she had. She's gotten a tune-up since then, but other issues have kept me from unwinding her again.

    After-Market Valve Covers

That's true, but I figure I'll give it a go. They seemed to have pretty good reviews. To quote Bobcat Goldthwaite, "This is either gonna be really cool, or it's really gonna suck." It's not a show car or my primary ride, just a fun "little" coupe to cruise around in.

    After-Market Valve Covers

Hello, I have a 1969 Chrysler 300 with the standard 440. My driver's side valve cover gasket is leaking so I decided this would be a good enough reason to swap out the old stock covers while I'm puttin in new gaskets for a set of Edelbrocks from Summit. The problem is, they don't have wire...
