    Over heating Help

Hey guys, it's been a while but I figured I would post an update now that I have finally been able to get some stuff done. Back surgery sucks! What I ended up doing is installing a pusher fan that is wired to a switch under the dash. I'd have preferred a puller but there wasn't enough room and...

    Over heating Help

Thanks Bill. According to everything I can find, the non-A/C factory cap for the '66 Fury with 383 is 13lbs and the A/C equipped is 16lbs. I agree a thorough flush is needed, regardless of everything else. I am interested to see what difference the flush alone may make. I do know the idle is...

    Over heating Help

Hopefully I will not need to resort to religious artifacts or miracles just yet. Here's another mess of questions for you guys: Is there a particular radiator any of you would reccomend? If you have a link even better. Is there a shroud that would fit without much trouble that is common to...

    Over heating Help

Thanks Wollfen, my father had said the same thing about the shroud, I'm looking at which one will work best. Not sure if I'm going to try it w/this radiator or get a different one just yet.

    Over heating Help

My car never had A/C, but the current radiator is in fact under 22". This is the radiator that was put into the car by the previous owner after the drive train was rebuilt: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-380501 It is narrower than the factory unit but isn't a cheap one from what I can...

    Over heating Help

Small update for this issue: I put the new/correct radiator cap on and drove the car for about half an hour. On the highway going 65mph @ 2800 rpm it never got above 170 degrees. It'll do that all day without any temp rise whatsoever. When I got off of the highway and went through a...

    Over heating Help

Thanks guys. I know the oil is good, (water free) and was just changed. I did re-check it to verify today. I am 99% sure the water pump is good, there's no noise at all and no play in it at all. I'll have to try the IR temp gun, hadn't thought of that and I've never used one for that before...

    Over heating Help

Let's try this again under the correct forum section... Heya all. I'm having an issue with my motor running really hot when at idle after running for a bit. It's a '66 383/4spd. Last week on a hot & humid day I had it on the road and all was well and it stayed between 160-180 degrees. It...

    For Sale 1966 sport fury 2dr 383 4spd - $8500 craigslist

I think I have the clutch issue under control. There was a part of the linkage that was bone dry, and after getting lubed it made a huge difference. I think the car sat for a little while and a lot of joints are in need of some TLC. Now I have to get the shifter squared away. Thanks all for...

    For Sale 1966 sport fury 2dr 383 4spd - $8500 craigslist

I don't have to actually push it to the floor to shift, but if you do it wants to sort of stick at that point. There's a lot of spring behind it on the way back though. I'll have it up on a lift in the near future, and when I do I'll take a couple of pictures of the set-up. The more I feel it...

    Hi all from N.H.

We got "lucky" and had some rain, that took care of a lot of it. Don't worry we still have the piles that will be here until July.

    Headers. Why?

I have to admit I have always liked the sound that headers add to the old big blocks. I don't think they're necessary, but I am not complaining that someone went to the trouble to put them on mine before I bought it either. I was very impressed with the results from the article below, which...

    Hi all from N.H.

It's a no-post which I always thought of as "coupe", but I would not be shocked to hear I was wrong there.
