Muscle Cars..... First sonny, it is not a "muscle car", there were NO "muscle cars" produced in 1966, or 65, 67, 68 ..... so on. The proper term is "Supercar". Do some research, Some magazine editor/nerd coined the term "musclecar" much later.

I all the old timers say "CHROME DON'T GET YA HOME".

And do appreciate/respect your insight, what my point was, if you look at the b-body mopars of the late 60's,the ford fairlane cobras of the same era the copo camaro's. These muscle "er" supercars, were targeted at the youth market, with big horsepower motors,and bare bone options,as you're well aware were made to go fast, look good and sound even better doin it. I.M.O. a 66 Fury with a 4 spd. truly qualifies as a "Supercar".
 
A member over at FBBO bought the 4 speed car. He's pretty excited about it

Unfortunately the side chrome was removed before I bought it. It also has both rear skirts, but they are in need of a paint job.

I'm the one who bought it...and while I like the car I wouldn't have paid 15k. There was a lot of work done from 2011-2012 that adds up to more than that, but he had to know he'd never get all of that back. So far I'm happy with the car and haven't had any issues with getting it on the road and out on the highway. n It rides great and the drivetrain is excellent. I do wish I had the chrome trim but if I never get it I won't be heartbroken.
 
So far so good with the Fury. I had mistakenly posted it in the "B" body forum, but thankfully I was quickly corrected by the guys who know their stuff.

As for the Fury, I believe it has a minor exhaust leak at one of the headers but nothing else major. The clutch is kind of funky though. It's VERY stiff and when you push it to the floor it almost wants to stick there. Once you let up on it though, it comes back hard and will slap your foot if you're not used to it or ready for it. It appears to be completely in the linkage, but I don't know for sure yet. The mechanic who did the inspection said it loosened up a lot after being lubed, but it's still pretty stiff. Not sure if that's common with these or not, since this is my first Mopar and I have never worked on one before. Any thoughts or advice anyone has on this or anything else known with these cards would be greatly appreciated.
 
Sticking down is not normal, being hard to press is the sign of a heavy duty / high spring rate Borg Warner style pressure plate or maybe the spring below missing or binding

Can you show a picture of the pedal assy setup ?

Is there a spring like this there? How is it attached if so?

One end of the spring goes to the clutch pedal itself and the other end of the spring goes to the clutch retention pin. Also called an over center spring.

Post a pic from underneath showing your clutch fork, eye bolt, Z bar etc

I suggest a welcome wagon post to show off your new acquisition and tell us a little bit about your plans etc

ETA: It's snowing here, (gotta love New England "Spring") so I haven't gotten a pic from underneath yet, but once I do I'll post it on here. Tall, that spring you posted does look familiar though. Gotta love a 4 sp Fury.
If you need to push the pedal to the floor then you may need to adjust the linkage. Try for about 1/2-3/4" free play and full dissingagement about 3/4 of the way down.
Should it come to replacing the clutch use a cone type in place of the three fork. McCloud offers a nice one.
 
I don't have to actually push it to the floor to shift, but if you do it wants to sort of stick at that point. There's a lot of spring behind it on the way back though. I'll have it up on a lift in the near future, and when I do I'll take a couple of pictures of the set-up. The more I feel it the more I think it's an adjustment issue as mentioned. From what I know about the car the clutch has less than 3k miles on it.
 
I think I have the clutch issue under control. There was a part of the linkage that was bone dry, and after getting lubed it made a huge difference. I think the car sat for a little while and a lot of joints are in need of some TLC. Now I have to get the shifter squared away. Thanks all for your tips and info.
