Can anyone post a quick picture of a 66’ 300 front splash guard installed and routed correctly? Thanks

    383 water temp

Well, I wanted something beyond the idiot lights and ammeter but there’s no good spot on my dash to hang a set of gauges. It just would have ruined the look of the dash. So I found this cheap but effective setup online. I like the hidden mounting. ( I guess this would would work well under the...

    383 water temp

Thanks Big John. I just put the hayden clutch in because I couldn’t tell the difference in rotating resistance hot or cold. It’s the heavy duty one I believe (which is the same as putting in a lower temp thermostat I believe. It just starts working a little earlier). I have the fan shroud and...

    383 water temp

Thanks John. I never heard of using CLR in a cooling system before. Can we be reasonably certain that the CLR will not react in some nefarious way under heat and pressure? Is this similar to what is used when they “boil” out a radiator?

    383 water temp

I didn’t know that was hard on a transmission. Good to know. Why is that?I’ve got a replacement aluminum radiator, good hoses, new fan clutch, I’ll try cleaning out the radiator.

    383 water temp

Yes, it helps thanks. Just trying to figure out if running above the thermostat temp is normal for these motors.

    383 water temp

I know this sounds ignorant (and there are many variables) but what would be a “normal” or acceptable water temp running at 70 mph at an outside air temp of 85-90 degrees? I’m running a 180 degree thermostat and I’m showing between 192 and 200 degrees. (With The AC on it kicks it up around 3...

    Paint stripe over chrome

These will give you a general idea of their workmanship. Sorry about the double photo.

    Paint stripe over chrome

Ripinator, Sorry to have not broken that price down. It was $1020 for the bezels (they needed a good amount of work due to heavy pitting) and about $900 for the bumper. Also had very rough back-up light bezels and trunk lid trim in there.

    Paint stripe over chrome

Thanks Big John. I was more successful second time by using a primer and cleaning more carefully. I didn’t scuff or sand the chrome. We’ll see if it adheres or not.

    Thanks! No scuffing or primer?

    Paint stripe over chrome

Ripinator, Did your bezels have any red paint over the chrome?

    Paint stripe over chrome

Vinyl is interesting solution. I will look into that, however I’d still like to paint it (preferably without scuffing the chrome). I took my bezels and rear bumper to SpaceCoast Plating in Melbourne, FL. They took out a small dent in the bumper and it looks close to 100%. The bezels had a lot of...

    Paint stripe over chrome

Help! I just re-chromed my 66' 300 tail light bezels. There is a quarter-inch black satin stripe on the lower bezel that I'm having a hard time getting to adhere to the chrome. What is an effective way of painting this stripe?
