Any feedback on a 518 in a Fusey?

It's amazing. My transmission has over 300,000 miles on it and still pulled 14,000 lbs through the Texas hill country without missing a beat. :) As for the Imperial, life got in the way. However, I'm making progress. The Edelbrock heads have been ported and the valve work is underway. This...

Once again, headers needed for a Fusey

That's a damned expensive try. I can tell you that hurts flow. Don't need a dyno for that.

Once again, headers needed for a Fusey

Can you spot what I don't like about TTI exhaust?

    I went 151.24mph today

You only get a few laps at speed unless you opt for one of the larger and more expensive packages.

I think you meant to say "the plot sickens." :D

    I went 151.24mph today

I had my little half-pint AMG at 160 mph earlier this week. It's a 15 year old Mercedes C55. That's a compact C class with a 5.4 liter AMG V8. The computer flash removed the 155 mph limiter so the little guy will run up to 173-175 before it runs out of gears. Not too shabby for a paltry 362 hp.

    I went 151.24mph today

I did the same at Texas Motor Speedway but didn't get a certificate.

Once again, headers needed for a Fusey

I did that with the first version of my twin turbo 440 in the 65 Belvedere. It was a PITA and I really don't care to do that again. Besides, building the headers will take me just as long as the rest of the build and I've got other things that demand my time. I'm a single man working 10 hour...

    The Imp will ride again!

Yeah, I've had the car for a while now. Sadly, it's been off the road for 5 years. Life got in the way with me having a full time job and starting my own business. I've been able to settle things down a bit and have really been getting the bug to play with an old car again. The Imp is the...

    The Imp will ride again!

No, but that's never stopped me before. :D I have a 518 and Ultrabell to install once the 727 goes high order.

Once again, headers needed for a Fusey

I'm sick of hearing the greybeards praise cast iron manifolds that cork the exhaust. They don't work for me. I'm running angle plug heads and manifolds burn the plug wires. Besides that, I'm dropping a 543 inch stroker in my 72 Imperial. It's finally getting the torque it deserves. :D When I...

    The Imp will ride again!

After too many years off the road I ordered parts to put the Imperial back together. Parts have been ordered and The block is at the machine shop now. It's growing to 543 cubic inches. Needless to say, my old Edelbrock heads will be the cork in the bottle. Well, that's assuming I find some...

1972 Imperial... Headers you can live with

Willing to push a friend off a cliff, eh? Yes, you started the wheels turning again about building my own manifolds but I have so little time to work on stuff as it is. I want my barge running again. :(

1972 Imperial... Headers you can live with

You know I'm a boostaholic and have been one since the previous century. I even remember discussing that stuff with you before your build. I still have the turbos and EFI from the hot rod but wanted a more sedate engine this time around. It has been a real struggle to not turbo this thing. All...

1972 Imperial... Headers you can live with

I've thought about long rams but the cast iron headers will not produce the power of normal headers and are not likely to clear the angle plug Edelbrock heads.

1972 Imperial... Headers you can live with

I'm looking at a set of headers for my 72 Imp. The factory exhaust manifolds are not compatible with Edelbrock heads so a change is required. Keep in mind that I'm building an ultra heavy, quiet, and comfortable car for cross country road trips. The engine combo on paper (okay, my old dyno...

Anyone have any pics of them doing burnouts.

I think it's great! It's his car. Let him have fun with it. Nothing wrong with a hairy knuckled luxo barge. My 72 Imperial was going to inherit the twin turbo EFI system from my 65 Belvedere but I've decided to build a roadster and boosting the Imp would push it farther back. I still like the...

Where there manual A/C along with ATC

There is a way to resurrect the ATC system and it bypasses the big vacuum servo. You see, Chrysler sold the ATC system to Mercedes in 1975 and it was used extensively on their cars. I'm well versed with it due to 12 years of slinging Mercedes parts. The Mercedes crowd demanded a fix and a little...

Any feedback on a 518 in a Fusey?

The gear change to 3.23 happened in 1972 to help bolster performance with the lower compression motors. Keep in mind that it really wasn't a 130 hp drop that year. Going from net to gross ratings accounted for most of that change.
