66 Newport Finally on the Road!

Congratulations getting your 66 Newp on the road! We love ours and really enjoy the ride these have. In my opinion the 65-66 body style really works as a four door. These automobiles are coming into their own. You have a great looking car and now you can drive with your hat on! Have a great fall...

Has anyone ever won a car show with their C body?

I never won with a C body, but at the 56th annual Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie Pennsylvania our 1966 Chrysler Newport sedan was curiously honored...in a way. That year the show featured all Chrysler Products and each year the best of the best is placed in a tent. I had planned on taking my...

    Dip stick?

OP: I have several original dipsticks in the parts collection. I will be able to go through them over the Thanksgiving holiday if you can wait that long. To confirm you are looking for 383 engine and not for the 727 T correct? I have both (I think). All the best, Retroman.

66-300 440 engine fails to start or even turn over.

Follow-up report: It was the starter relay. All points on the old one showed signs of corrosion. I just placed a new one on a few minutes ago and Mr. Blue fired right up. I am noticing that across the fleet the old original electronic components are giving up this past year. Had a coil crack on...

66-300 440 engine fails to start or even turn over.

This just happened to me today on Mr. Blue our 66 Newport. I jumped the relay and it sparked but no turn over. Power to everything else. Did the original poster ever find the fault? Running the cables. Could it be the neutral safety switch? Parked for about a week on a slight down hill grade...

WANTED What is this part called? I need one for my 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible

Gentlemen: I wish to apologize for going MIA on this thread. Work took over and became all consuming but this weekend I have finally been able to get back to the garage and check out the two Sport Furies. The 1965 has the same 9 hole u track that Detmat was kind enough to post an image of on...

    Engine noise help

C-Buddies: I wish to relate a recent experience that may help. I have a car from 1963..lets just say its not a MOPAR... that I was convinced had a bad valve. It had a real nice distinct tap on start up. As the car warmed and we were on the road it would soften out. I was all set to get under...

WANTED What is this part called? I need one for my 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible

Gents: I think we are on the trail. Yes it looks like the long strip attached to the back of the seat in the image Clay Harrison provided. In another thread referenced below dated 19 Jul 2019, Evan Jansen called it a Boot Rail. The boot screws into this section that I am after to affix it to the...

WANTED What is this part called? I need one for my 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible

C-Buddies: A question for the collective wisdom found on this site...What is the nomenclature or popular name of the strip that attaches the leading edge of the boot cover to the back of the seat on a 66 Sportfury convertible? My 65 has a metal strip that attaches the boot cover to the back of...

Greenlight Hollywood Series 1977 Plymouth Fury found at target

The models are the barometer. Found this at Target. Always told my son Retrolad that when you see models of the cars you are collecting being made, the interest in the type is building. Well I guess the 4 door stigma Is finally wearing off and the big Cs are getting some positive attention...

What happened to the free New Yorker in Virginia thread?

Cbuddies: Am I dreaming or was there a thread about a free New Yorker to be picked up in Virginia or it would go to the crusher posted last night? This morning I looked and no thread and I checked my email account for the email that I wrote to a Mr. Pugh and that is gone as well. No record in...

Just joined the party. 67 Newport Custom.

Welcome aboard! Very nice car. Congrats on taking the Newp to work. Every time I drove one of my classics to work, the way there and back was like a mini vacation. Enjoy, and if the pipes float your boat so be it. All the best Retroman.
