I purchased a complete set for a 1968 Chrysler Newport Convertible. They were the incorrect ones. I have emailed twice to return and replace with the correct ones but have never heard back from you. Can someone help me?
Hello everyone. Bought new windows channel rubber. Matched the shape to originals. Thought the new ones would just pop in. Problem is they seem to be just a hair too wide and don't sit flat and even like I thought they would.
Since I have never done this before I wanted to get some feedback...
Merry Christmas everyone!
Anyone know if you could add an electric motor to a manual regulator? I know it would take some drilling, cutting and welding, but would the gearing be the same or is it a special regulator for the electric motor?
Thanks
Figured some you you guys would get a kick of this. 275/40 r20. Friend let me borrow his wheels to see if I could get them to fit. Almost no room on the outer lip, but they physically fit. Need a bigger offset to get 295's. Yes, I have issues:realcrazy:
JC, thank you SO much. Those pictures help a ton. It is a 68 Newport. Always loved the body style. Got mine with very little rust but everything else was shot. No original numbers to anything, so I decided to update and use it as much as possible. Again, thanks for the pics!
Hello everyone. Could anyone give me a measurement of how deep the glass sits in the convertible well when the top is down from where it mounts to the body in front of the trunk? Trying to make a solid "well" without crushing the glass the first time I put the tip down. A vertical depth from...
Thanks. The plan is either Mopar or me. If I have to sell out and put something else in it I'll be totally upfront about it:thumbsup:. I'm going to attach pics of the subframe connectors later before I install them. I appreciate the cool comments. I contacted Mopar looking for help with the...
First, thank you for the, "fab skills look great" comment. Never did this before. I only removed what was in the way. I even left the shock support crossmember that runs from one frame rail to the other. I am paranoid that the whole car is going to fold in half after all this work! The only...
Hello everyone. About 90% finished with the IRS install on my 68 Newport convertible. Lots of cutting and fab. Been at if for months. Seems to be in straight and square. Car will probably snap in half, but it is different. Had to make rear mounts from scratch, and cut off the ones Mopar gave it...
Honestly I was always going to do a modern drive line, wanted it to be relatively reliable. Got into pricing all the parts to beef up the original rear. Going with the IRS was actually cheaper. Much more involved, but that is the fun of this. Still newgoing to get new torsion bars, sway bar...
The mounts for the Hellcat rear sit just outside the frame rails, which will have to be notched. I will have to add back some support on the inside. There is room under the rear seat to add material to the other side of the frame rails to get the full strength back. It's involved but I am hoping...
Thanks for the replies. All the old suspension is gone, I can only use the body for reference.
Haven't killed anyone yet with this thing. It might kill me though!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Started trying to install a Hellcat rear in my 68 Newport. (Why not?) Any chance someone could send me measurements from the back door sill and from the top of the wheel opening (without skirts on) to the rear wheel center? Didn't take those measurements before I...
