Honestly haven't put much thought into exact cam specs yet just something to take advantage of 4 decades worth of newer cam tech. I'm not someone chasing the chop chop sound.

Sniper is the holley efi kit. I've read it like single plane intakes more than dual for tuning purposes.

Does anyone know of any shorty headers or even long tunes besides tti that fit a 65 300 without having to modify too much? Want to re do my exhaust but just can't justify the price of the tti yet the car still needs more before id drop that kind of coin.

I haven't cleaned it up but again came out of my running driving and on the road 65 300.

Debating on unloading my extra 742 case. It is open aka non sure grip with 3.23 gears. Came out of my running driving 65 chrysler 300 only taken out to put a 489 case with suregrip. Not really sure what the market is for them but anything less than $300 id probably just keep it around as a spare.

So wound up bringing the center section to a shop. Turned out the crush sleeve wasn't nearly crushed enough. Replaced the pinion bearing out of an abundance of caution since I did put a few miles on it. All is good now. No strange noises or chirping and the cone style sure grip worked very well...

Not sure about the cones but I can say all the bearing that could be seen for sure were new seals aswell. Even the messed up pinion side had a brand new seal.

Exactly so me putting the effort to crush it would be futile. Sounds like the open case is going back in and ill have to drop this one off to be inspected by someone more knowledgeable and with the proper tools. Sucks. I really appreciate all the input from everyone.

Ya my nut is flush. No thread showing at all. I think the guy either forgot or just didn't crush it.

I have to tell you the more and more I think about it I think that the crush sleeve isn't crushed yet. The pinion nut is on the pinion but the treaded end is flush with the nut.

I tried to tighten it some. Breaker bar with a 3ft cheater and got maybe an 8th of a turn and thought I was going to break something and didn't feel like getting it in the face with a shattered breaker. Pretty disheartened but it is what it is. I learned the hard way not to trust people. At the...

I bought the case back in the spring I'm sure he would not be happy with the thought of giving my money back. I think I'm going to throw a mini spool in my open case for the time being and save up to do a full rebuild.
