    1968 Hemi Road Runner Test

I’m not arguing I’m stating facts. So calm down and quit yelling Street Hemi K members has skid plates and the engines had a deep oil pan Since 1966. Where do you get a 1/2” oil pickup for a shallow pan? Neither of these are on the pictured car. Why wouldn’t they use production parts That...

New engine has a bad main bearing

The one piece that damaged that bearing is probably imbedded in the bearing. The oil passages are clean because no other bearing is damaged. Replace bearing and go. A machining defect didn’t do this damage. Agree don’t use scotchbrite inside and engine that’s going together. Talk about...

New engine has a bad main bearing

If the journal looks good then replace the bearing and go. Measure the journal first to be sure. Also measure the rod and main bearing clearances so you know what you’ve got in there, and what weight oil to run.

    Out with the 400

Pretty light weight for that size car, good job. Shouldn’t have burnt fluid in 18 passes. That’s AFU. The cheetah valve body will make it work good. As long as the front pump is right to make pressure.

    Out with the 400

I’d leave that 4.2 or go to a 3.8 lever. what is wrong with your trans now? Was it rebuilt once recently? how much does the car weigh? How much power will it have? What converter will be on it? How much rear gear?

    Out with the 400

Take it from a trans builder: 1) the cheetah valve body is excellent. It will solve many problems. 2) Do not use a 5.0 lever, it will cause problems if you don’t have the super heavy hemi 5 disc drum. and why is it always the hardest to get to freeze plug that leaks?

    FURYIOUS update

I say your bearings are fine. Plenty of oil in them from being primed twice. And you didn’t rev it up or run it very long. but this happening doesn’t make you feel good and you want to go and race it. One time I changed oil & filter [NAPA gold] on a nice engine and drove to the races 10...

    FURYIOUS update

Exhaust Header Heat Wraps - Do Not Use it was the thing to do in stock & Super Stock. They will try anything. Until the headers were falling apart. Especially in humid climates. Now you just don’t see wrapped headers adapt the drags in this area anyway.
