    Plastic on 77 440 block??

It looks like grey marine tex. It is funny I was changing a starter in a 68 dodge dart 318 years back and it encountered the same thing. It was the previous owners mechanics answer to fixing a freeze out plug that didn't pop out correctly and had a crack. I cleaned it up took out the freeze plug...

    ENGINE REBUILDER

I used Scott Merkle. He is very honest and has a long history of racing and engine building. He built my 440 and I am very satisfied. It was ready when he promised at the price that was quoted.

    Timing chain replacement.

The Cloyes double roller timing chain as other members agree can't be beat I would not take a chance with anything else. Changing the timing chain is time consuming and a pain in the butt. Do it once don't chance it for a few dollars.

is a hoodscoop required with a high rise intake

I used an Edelbrock CH4b on my 1968 sport fury 440. I am using an Edelbrock 800 thunder series series. I run my dual snorkel air cleaner with a smaller base plate that drops down. The ideal manifold would of been the performer rpm. I had a friend open up the manifold a little bit. Even with this...

    440RB into 72 Fury 360LA

I bought a set of mity mounts on my 68 sport fury 440. They work great and were easy to install. I purchased them from 440 source for around $160.00. I went through 3 sets of Chinese mounts before I got these so far so good. They have beem out of the Shumacher mounts for quite some time.

    Motor Mounts Constantly Breaking

Thank you Dave I was buying mounts from a fairly reputable old time shop and they were lasting 3-5 days of 15-20 mile nighttime rides to the beach at speeds no higher than 70 miles per hour. What junk but they were only 25 bucks. The owner couldn't believe I was telling him the truth. What junk...

Funny thing a neighbor of mine who was an old German machinist specifically told me do not use WD40 on your rings and pistons. He said you do not want to use motor oil use tranny fluid or marvel mystery oil. He said he has heard of people using WD40 and it is the biggest mistake you can make...

Thanks for the response. when I take the air cleaner off and look inside I don't see anything dripping but I get a very strong fuel smell. I agree with all the dust flying around also. This carb has gone through an awful lot. I'm going to give the Edelbrock 750 vacuum secondaries electric choke...

Hi I adjusted the level to the line on the sight glass and it stays at that level. When I start the car it is so flooded I am amazed that it even runs. once it clears up it seems to run fairly ok. if you step on it a little it will stumble and get a lot of popping in the mufflers and the exhaust...
