That sounds like the way most cars with non radial tires felt in the 60s and earlier. What type of tires do you have on it now? What condition is the front end in?

You could also put a dent in the valve cover you have. It is common when fitting headers and valve covers are thinner metal so it should be easy to do.

In one of your pictures, it looks like there is a factory valve cover on that fits. Why can't you use those?

Rim B" isn't looking too good. What happened to the center of it? Not sure what that would fit but I agree with Owen11x, about "A". It looks like a Mopar rim.

The one I bought in 1965 for my '57 Plymouth fits both our '72 and '74 Barracudas too.

If you want to go with the 60 series tires, then why not use the 255/60R-15 size. Are they too wide?

I agree with the comments above, but I would also give the tires a close inspection.

Can you post a picture of what the brakes look like with the drums removed. Maybe someone on here with the same car as you might see something.

Strange, I've had Mopars for over 50 years and have done lots of drum brakes in that time. I've never come across what you are experiencing. It has to be frustrating. Did you get new springs when you redid the brakes and did they match the old ones? Don't give up, you'll find it.

I have never heard of that before. Are you talking about when it is all assembled, and you are in the car driving? Are you sure the springs are on correctly? I would double check everything. I would think that something is wrong if you can hear them from inside the car with the drums and wheels...

I don't think the solid wheels would be an issue. Most cars of the sixties had full wheel covers and most were solid with no provision for cooling. I agree about using the 255-60-15 tires on the back.

I agree with above. If you do highway driving, then I would change them. For around town, I think you will be okay.

To be correct a 67 would have thin whitewalls or redlines.

I converted my 57 to discs and it stops great. The 72 Barracuda I bought new still has its drums all around and it stops good too. If you have a hard pedal, it could be the wrong size master cylinder. Is the master cylinder the one that is supposed to be on 1969 Furies?

I wouldn't use them. Portawalls have been around for years. Back in the sixties a guy on my block had them on his car. He was a lousy parker and tore them up hitting the curb. They always looked funny anyway. I have no experience with the new ones but was told that they do not work well with...

Do what mrfury68 has said. Don't fool around with your brakes. Maybe your shoes are bad. I've seen some that were contaminated and were sticking. Are they new?
