I agree, it should work. Did you try both Am & FM? Is there a station in your area you know has a strong signal, and can manually tune to it and see if you get anything?

Agree, somewhere on the switch housing, you have to reach under the dash and find it, a spring loaded button, push it while pulling out the knob. Don't give up on the first try, they can be temperamental.

Personally, in any application I've had, NGK's. I don't mean to offend, they just work, IMO.

I swapped out the bulbs in mine, definitely brighter. Only thing, dimmer didn't work, on or off.

For such big cars, some things are just in tight spots and a PITA to get to.

Might want to clean them off, some parts cleaner, wire brush if you have to. You'll need them.

Just a guess, your location says Illinois so I assume it's cold. I started driving in Upstate NY in 74. Moisture in outside vented fuel systems during winter was a common thing. I usually had a couple bottles of dry gas on hand. (Do they still make that? lol)

The mast you have looks to be the correct one, (better than the repop I bought), should have a 1/4-20 thread on it. Mine broke down in the base and I replaced it with a reproduction, not the best, pretty sure an import. It did fit but the mast came apart, at least they sent a new one at no...

The radios, assuming in good working order, are fine. I think though, there aren't many, (if any), of the 50,000 watt AM stations like there used to be in the 60's-70's. If you're not in a metro area may have trouble.

Don't know what you have, but mine had a "Distributor vacuum control valve", I member back when these hit the trash pretty quick. My car ran good when I got it so didn't worry about it. Until recently, was doing some adjustments and what sounded like an exhaust leak was this thing rattling...
